The Organic Pea Cultivation Guide develops advanced technical knowledge in an easy language available to everyone. Even if the reader is in their first contact with the subject, will be able to learn step by step of this cultivation. The best method without pesticides in garden beds and pots will be explained, resulting from the dedication of the author Márcio Pereira – researcher on organic vegetable growing – throughout your study program.
Organic production does not allow soil or plants contamination, it uses organic fertilizers without applying pesticides. You will work the garden as a living organism, where there is a diversification of plant species with the purpose of ensuring environmental balance.
Within the organic system, you will insert the cultivation of pea, following its specificities and requirements, in the search of a high quality production aimed at own consumption or sales.
In the first chapter, you will be guided in garden preparations following the initial steps of area assessment, soil analysis, soil preparation, limestone powder and organic manure applications.
In the second chapter, we will start to create the vegetable garden by building the beds, choosing the seeds and planting the pea.
In the third chapter, the subject is cultural practices, you will understand about irrigation, thinning, staking and foliar fertilization.
