5

- According to Jennings
6
First published in 1954. This classic children’s book by Anthony Buckeridge is one of a series of novel’s revolving around Jennings and his friends who attend the fictional Linbury Court School. In this audiobook – the space-craze sweeps through the corridors reverberate with ‘voom-voom’ noises as rockets, piloted by “Butch Breakaway” (Jennings) and his “bald-headed scientist,” (Darbishire), take off for the moon. As Mr. Carter prophesies, the craze wears off, but not before Jennings has stuck his head into trouble; nor before he and Darbishire have helped General Merridew, that peppery but most distinguished of Old Boys, to recapture some of the wilder moments of his lost boyhood.
- Jennings, as Usual
10
In this audiobook – jennings starts the second half of the Christmas term by accidentally setting his india rubber (eraser) on fire, it seems the residents of Linbury Court are going to have an exciting few weeks. Along with High Fidelity Telephonic Communication (or two tins and a piece of string), the ‘Affair of the Assistant Masterpiece’ and Jennings suddenly becoming a musical prodigy, Old Wilkie is definitely not going to get the peace and quiet he was hoping for. Mouldy chizz!
- The Jennings Report
20
This is book #20 of the 25 Jennings books Anthony Buckeridge published between 1950 and 1994. We have recorded six of the timeless classics, all narrated by the amazing Simon Vance. In The Jennings books, often refered to as the precursor to Harry Potter or P.G. Wodehouse for kids, each book is it’s own story, full of myschief and mayhem. You won’t find any magic or wizards. Just wonderfully written stories featuring Jennings and his best friend Darbishire doing there best to stay out of trouble only to land right in the middle of it. In this audio book – Jennings plans to report on a mathematical comparison of TV aerials in rural (Linbury) and urban (Dunhambury) locations – but gets distracted with the care of Old Sleepy, the top secret hedgehog.
- Jennings at Large
22
In this audio book – term is over and, after a short camping expedition that leaves poor Mr Wilkins determined never to go through such an horrific experience again, Jennings is off to stay with his Aunt Angela. There, he meets Emma Sparrow who needs to hide her collection of stray animals from the exasperated caretaker. When Jennings comes up with a seemingly flawless plan, he congratulates himself on his quick thinking. But with Jennings at large, things can always be expected to go disastrously wrong! ‘-fossilised fish-hooks!’
- Jennings Again!
23
In this audiobook – When Linbury goes green, Jennings and Darbishire offer to do their bit for the environment and are given the task of distributing leaflets. Unfortunately, Darbishire's shoelace refuses to stay tied and, using his initiative, Jennings removes the rubber band holding the leaflets together and performs an emergency shoelace repair. All seems fine, until a gust of wind hurls the leaflets over Marina Gardens. The residents are none too pleased, and its poor Mr Wilkins who's going to get the blame – addle-pated eyewash!
