Did you see The Brutalist? It was a shit show in Toronto! Me and my guy were supposed to see it and they literally sold our tickets to someone else. Was it as amazing as I hear? Glad you liked Anora! It’s my favorite so far. I think Emilia Perez is in the mix to spoil Anora outside of The Brutalist. I do feel it’s going to be one of these 3 though in the end.
Yes, It was fantastic, i found some flaws but nothing that stopped me from loving it (same with emilia perez)
The runner up for the third spot will be decided by the precursors, if a film wins over those two mentioned

Do you think it is gonna take the screenplay award from what i am hearing it screams what wins in this category
It’s most likely going to take screenplay, the brutalist is a close second tho
Regarding actress, i liked Mikey’s performance
I think it’s good, but i don’t see how it can win best actress at the oscars (maybe at the globes it could) but oscars? i don’t see ampas voters prioritizing her over other known actresses.

ANORA’ is on track to earn the second-best opening theater average post-Covid, with an estimated $600K+ from only six theaters.
This also marks the best opening per-theater average for any film this year.

I just watched Anora today. And I am upset I did not like it (at all – I’ve considered leaving the cinema). I was fully prepared for one of those « moments » when watch a movie and like or at least appreciate the story, the acting, the cinematography, etc. Overall, I was bored. I did not understand the buzz around the movie, let alone the Oscar odds for Mickey Madison, just screaming and swearing for 2 hours.
