First, I had to remember how to breathe. Then, I had to learn how to survive. Two years, three months and sixteen days had passed since I was the Rowe Stanton from before, since tragedy stole my youth and my heart went along with it.

When I left for college, I put a thousand miles between my future and my past. I’d made a choice—I was going to cross back to the other side, to live with the living. I just didn’t know how.

And then I met Nate Preeter.

An All-American baseball player, Nate wasn’t supposed to notice a ghost-of-a-girl like me. But he did. He shouldn’t want to know my name. But he did. And when he learned my secret and saw the scars it left behind, he was supposed to run. But he didn’t.

My heart was dead, and I was never supposed to belong to anyone. But Nate Preeter had me feeling, and he made me want to be his. He showed me everything I was missing.

And then he showed me how to fall.

*This is a standalone in a three-part series that will focus on different characters. Each book can be read on its own.

4-4.5 'Falling' stars!

This is Falling is yet another book that has been constantly recommended to me and I kept putting it off because I didn’t have the time. I was finally able to get to it by listening to the audio book. And friends- you were right. I loved this book!

This is a story about a broken heroine. Rowe has had something unimaginable and terrible happen to her in high school and it’s shaped who she’s become. She’s not that full of life girl she was. Something in her has died. As a freshman in college, Rowe wants to change. She wants to go back to living, to be the girl she was before the incident. She isn’t sure it’s possible, but then she meets a guy at her college. He’s a baseball player by the name of Nate Preeter. And he gets her. He’s patient with her. He wants her- broken and all.
This time is different. He doesn’t see my scars at all. He only sees me. And he wants me.

 photo 6f87b53a-e848-449a-a43d-d5097d3a3f05_zpsmyufujbr.jpg

Nate is a pretty spectacular hero. He meets Rowe and he loves how awkward and standoffish she is. It is endearing for him. I love how patient and understanding Nate was with Rowe. He was pretty perfect for her. With Nate, Rowe started living. Started to feel alive again for the first time in a long time. Their love story was beautiful.

Along with Rowe and Nate, there were some great secondary characters. Cass, Ty, and even Paige. I’m looking forward to reading more about them. I enjoyed the narration in this audio book- although I do feel it would have been more enjoyable if there would have been a female AND male narrator since the book is written in dual pov.

This is Falling is a sweet and beautiful romance. It’s a story about healing, moving from your past, and falling in love. If you’re looking for lovely story with two fantastic characters that takes place in college- pick this one up! It was a real winner for me.
“This is… love.”

”This is how a girl steals your heart.”

I really loved this book, the characters were wonderful, the writing was witty, the back story was heartbreaking and Nate and Rowe were oh so swoon worthy!

This was my first Ginger Scott book and I’ve already jumped into her first book because I must read more by this author. This book was pure butterfly inducing enjoyment and the author gifted unique characters that had depth and layers. This story is told in alternating pov of Rowe and Nate.

Rowe Stanton has been living with the scars and remnants of a horrific tragedy that stopped her life two years ago. Rowe finished her high school education by being home schooled and working with a therapist and her parents towards her being strong enough to go to college and try to live life once again.

”This is my great test, what I’ve worked toward for two years.”

Rowe meets Nate Preeter on her first day in the dorm hallway. She’s his type, but she’s skiddish yet funny and genuine. Nate is the catcher for their college’s baseball team and he rooms with his brother TJ (kick ass character, he will indeed be getting his own book.) the brother’s conversations and pranks with the girls were so much fun.

Nate’s all over the idea of more with Rowe while Rowe is indeed taken with Nate but the ties to her past pull her and leave her conflicted. Rowe never got on my nerves not even once. She was truly likable and Nate well he was the best!

Seriously, how wonderful was Nate?

”Dimples. Smile. Accent. I’m sunk.”

description

Rowe truly is in love but the love of her past is hard to move forward from and her battle will make you feel.

”It’s like I’m caught in an internal tug-of-war with myself- my heart begging to beat from thrill, but caged in fear.”

description

Rowe comes so far in the first months of college and her relationship which was well paced helped her face releasing the pain of her past and truly live.

description

”“And then it’s there – the smile. The same look she had on her face in that picture. It’s joy. And I just gave it to her. My god, do I want to give it to her again.”

Overall, this story was funny, heartbreaking and just perfect there isn’t a thing I would change. Well done and onto the rest of Ginger Scott’s books!!

This...is falling.
This...is desire
This...is living
This...is love
This is how a girl steals your heart.
This is me...this is me, trying.
There was not a single thing that I didn't love about this book. Starting from the writing, the plot, the humour, main characters and ending on the secondary ones. I loved all of it!

It was a beautiful, sometimes heartbreaking and sometimes funny, love story. It was a story about a girl, who wanted so much but couldn't let go of the past and about a boy who was looking for love and once he found it, he fought for it.

Rowe, having spent two years home schooled after a horrific tragedy, comes to college and is ready to move on with her life, she is ready to try and finally live. Easier said than done. She is socially awkward and guarded, but slowly as she meets new people she opens up more and more. She meets Nate, and it might seem like insta love but I don't think it really is. They start slowly, build the friendship first, and though it's clear he would like more, Rowe is very careful about them.

Nate, ah, he is such a sweetheart:) Loving, caring, funny, gentle and understanding. He is attracted to Rowe since the first time he meets her. While spending time with her, he knows she isn't like any other girl, he knows there is something different about her and it will be hard with her. But still, he wants to try. "She starts spinning slowly in a circle, laughing. And then it's there - the smile. The same look she had on her face in that picture. It's joy. And I just gave it to her. My god, do I want to give it to her again."

It isn't easy for them to start relationship, it isn't easy for Rowe to trust and love somebody and it definitely isn't easy for Nate to win her heart, but he is so patient and it pays off. "Look at me", I say, needing to know she's feeling this. I don't want her forcing herself to do something. I want her to want to be here, to remember this, to obsess over it until she comes back to me. I want her to want more - more of me. "I will wait for you. Do you hear me? For as long as it takes. Forever if I have to. I'll wait forever, okay?"
It isn't easy but once they become a couple, they are so good together, they fit perfectly. There is so much warmth and tenderness between them, swoon worthy and butterflies inducing moments. It may lack in the steam department a little bit, but the emotional part makes up more than enough for it.

I loved their pranks, they were so witty, making jokes on each other, and including others in their "who will embarrass the other more" contest.

I loved the second characters. Nate's brother Ty was truly awesome, Rowe's roommate Cass too, even Paige who seemed like stereotypical blond bombshell grew on me. It doesn't happen often when every character in the book is appealing to me. But here, they were not just background, they were very good addition to this wonderful story.

And I absolutely loved the letter that Nate wrote to Rowe at the end of the book. Oh boy, it really had my heart beating faster.

I know this is a long ass review, but the book deserves it. So, if you love good NA, this book is definitely for you. Highly Recommend.

One more thing, Cass and Ty will get their own story in You and Everything After, which will also be released this year. I am extremely excited to get my hands on it just from reading the sneek peak at the end of This is... So, I will be waiting patiently....or not patiently:) for the next book in this series. And I hope there will be more. I am sure I would also like to read Paige's story.

I am so in love with this book! This is my forth one from Ginger Scott, and I loved all of them, it definitely won't be my last from her. I already said that before, I simply like how she can write a good story. What is more, this is by far one of the best readings for me this year. I will undoubtedly read anything this author writes. What can I say?

Title:This is Falling
Series:Falling series #1
Author:Ginger Scott
Release date: August 29, 2014
Rating:5 stars
Cliffhanger:No
HEA:

You know when you read a book, and you get so excited over it, you want to run around shouting: Friends! Come! See what I have found! I must share this with you...immediately! That's me, in this moment. You know Tom Hanks in the movie Castaway? Remember when he struggled in frustration over and over attempting to make a fire when he gets marooned on the tropical island? And finally after many struggles he's produced a fire?

Then...

He has a caveman moment, beating his chest and proclaiming to the sky: "Look. See what I have made. Fire!"

That's pretty much me...minus the fire and plus the book.

This is my first book by Ginger Scott and I can say with absolute certainty that it won't be my last. I fell in intense like for this book and just couldn't give it anything other than a five star rating. Typically, I just don't do that with New Adult. Not because I have anything against it, but I went through a LONG stage where that was all I read. I feel like most college romances have the same basic principles and their variations are small. Have I read a similar plot to this one? Yes, I have. And I could still decisively, without a second thought give it this rating. I loved everything about it-the characters were....more. They have that special quality that make you want to meet them, laugh with them, and give them a hug. The story was touching. My emotions were up, down, sideways-all over the place. I can't remember the last time I smiled and laughed at a story so much. I developed some major character crushes.

Nate was...gah! I just loved that guy! He was such a sweetheart. He's not the campus bad boy manwhore like so many NA book Heroes are. He was a good guy with a good heart. When he was betrayed by his ex, he tried to do be the one night stand guy, but it felt empty and pointless.

My tour through the world of asshole-ness was brief-nope, not for me."

He was so patient, loving, and understanding of Rowe's struggles and fears caused by her awful history.

She has a lot of baggage, she's in a fragile state-bravely trying to start life again after a horrific event in her past. She has a fear of public places and survivor's guilt.

Two years ago, I was doomed to never fit in again-like a wounded superhero tattooed by kryptonite.

She's ready to try to begin the journey of putting her past to rest and re-joining the world. Meeting new people and finding happiness. Because she's been living secluded and numb and she wants to feel alive again. Easier said than done.

They meet in the dorm hallway and immediately, Nate wants to get to know her. And for the first time in two years, Rowe wants to get to know a guy-carefully. What I liked about this couple was that their relationship grew from friendship and their feelings grew from common interests and getting to know one another rather than just simply lust. They were both attracted, sure, but the more they learned about each other, the more they realized they fit like puzzle pieces.

Nate is the challenger I always wanted, and I like him more than I thought I did. I like him more than I should. And a little part of me is okay with that.

I LOVED their awesome bantering, their similar sense of humor, and the pranks they played on each other and their friends. I laughed out loud at seeing them try to embarrass each other and pull the best prank! After learning what happened to her, he lives to make her happy and slowly he sees the sadness falling from her eyes.

This story was beautifully done. I loved every part of it and I can't wait to read more from this author. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed it. The author did a wonderful job of crafting these characters-I loved the secondary characters equally as much. Nate's brother was hilarious and I can't wait to read his story next! When I finished this book, I think I had little hearts floating around my head and my heart was about melted into a little puddle. So, yeah, I liked it. Read it!

Please, Ginger, don't keep me waiting too long for You and Everything After-write fast!

DNF at 58%

description

I really tried to like this book but in the end I had to throw in the towel. It's not a good sign when the book starts to annoy me at the 4% mark -->

However, I really am trying to cut down on the number of DNFs I have so I continued on, despite some scenes being extra cheesy or sweet. My biggest problem with the book lies with Nate. He is a very sweet and considerate hero, two qualities that are amazing, but it's too bad because there is no way a guy like him exists in a college environment -->

And then I finally threw up my hands and said WTF when

5 This is…Stars

Let me start by saying WOW! I loved this beautiful, heartbreaking story.

Rowe Stanton survived a horrific incident, she lost her best friend and her boyfriend in one second. How do you come back from that? The guilt of surviving, the overwhelming loneliness, and trauma of surviving death.

Nate Preeter is used to getting what he wants, as one of the most coveted catchers going into college, he doesn’t expect to have to convince a girl to like him. From the moment he meets Rowe he knows she is his type. It will take more then that to convince Rowe.

So you are probably thinking this is a story you have read a hundred times, girl is damaged and hot athlete comes in thinking he can get what he wants…that is not this story.

Nate is genuine in his interest in Rowe, he wants to be there for her, to protect her, to make things better for her. Rowe isn’t just some girl playing hard to get, she has a past she needs to move on from and issues with trust.

I loved how these two met and how Nate contacted her afterwards. I loved how he protected her and wanted to help her get better. I loved how she opened her heart to him and developed a relationship.

Nate and Rowe stole the show obviously, but I loved Ty, Cass, and even Paige. I cannot wait for Ty’s book!

I highly recommend this book. It made me laugh, cry, and swoon.

This is Falling is a sweet NA story, a bit predictable but an enjoyable read. Rowe has spent the last 2 years isolated and afraid, but she wants to move forward, so she applies to a college far away. Hoping that by putting distance between her and the past, she will be free.

description

During her first week on campus she meets Nate, and he is immediately interested in Rowe. Nate is a love guy, he doesn't want to randomly hook up, he is looking for something special. As feelings escalate, Rowe finds herself struggling to truly let go of the past and give herself to Nate.

"I don't need all of her, not all at once. I am willing to wait for whatever pieces she's willing to give. And if I have to help her make each piece whole first, then so be it."

This is a touching story about moving forward, letting go of guilt, and finding love. A well written, slow building romance, with a good mix of humor and emotion.

Disappointment. When I think about 'This Is Falling' all I could feel is Disappointment.

It has the perfect recipe to be a winner. A broken girl with a dark past, the handsome athlete who fell for her from first sight. A bunch of entertaining secondary characters. Humor, and beautiful love story.

Well sadly .. This love story didn't work out for me.

The review may contain spoilers, I'm writing from my phone and i can't put a tug.

I have no idea what the author was trying to do with Nate character. To make him some kind of martyr? The guy who was SO perfect he wanted to be OK with everyone around him? And, along the way hurting the girl he supposedly loves? Because he's SO good and considered ? God. Give me a break. I would have kicked him down the stairs .. I love sweet and GOOD hero. But not like this. NOT THIS WAY.

Let's start with what I didn't like and bothered me in the story. Some were minor details, some were important details. But I'm a girl that notice the small details, and in the book there were so many of them that bothered me that I could not enjoy my reading. Eventually I found myself not caring about any of the characters and felt detected from the story.

Strake 1 -

He was talking with the heroine, then Paige (a girl who wanted him) stood before him with her tits on display and he looked, more like stared at them without a shame.
I know you probably think I'm petty but it bothered me because the heroine was THERE in front of him.
I also know he's a guy. But this guy was SO PERFECT that I expected him to not stare.
Also, he and his brother kept mentioning this girl tits during the book. Well, at least she has good ones.

Strake 2 -

After the heroine fainted everyone was going to the hero room. His brother and his girl, and Paige. He invited the heroine but she declined and went to her room instead. While he was in his bed Paige crawls into it. Then he entertained the thought about making out with her, because well, he was bored. And I must say - during this time he WANTED the heroine. He know that, everyone know that. He was so smitten. So why even thinking about that at all?
But then he thought her voice was so annoying he couldn't stand it so he decided not too. Why? If her voice was normal you would make out with her? While wanting the heroine? He also didn't want to ruin his chances with the heroine by making out with her roommate. Well at least he has a brain. I give him credit because most guys would go for it, but even thought he decided not to he still let her into his bad and lay on his chest until she fall asleep .. Then he went to sleep in the couch.

I wasn't sure WHY he even let her.
Crawling into his bed and letting her lay her head on his chest until she was sleeping. it wasn't necessary .. It put me off! I was disappointed about his MIND and about his ACTIONS.

Strake 3 -

The heroine was so WEAK!
She came across as desperate in my eyes and wasn't in sync with me AT ALL.

Strake 4 -

Nate still carried a picture of him and his cheating ex-girlfriend in his wallet! He's keeping it for 'nostalgia' and it was his waking up call from the whoring In his past.
When he was looking at the photo it made him miss to be with someone. Been an Us.
Then it was NEVER mentioned again. Does he still kept it? Did he throw that away? Now that he's a part of 'us' - does he needs the reminder anymore??
WHY YOU LET US KNOW HE HAS IT IF YOU WOULDN'T TELL US WHAT HAPPENED TO IT?
I was so angry the heroine didn't find it or something. I know as a woman, finding picture like that in my boyfriend wallet would make me lose it. It was so disrespectful for her that I was angry for her, even if she didn't know it exist. The knowledge it's THERE didn't sit well with me. I felt like it was a dark cloud sitting over their head and annoy the hell out of me. Like his actions weren't believable anymore. Why believe anything you say while you kept this so close to you? I have no idea what the author tried to accomplish with this, but all I get was anger and again - disappointment in him.

Strake 5 and your out!

While they were on a date, he saw his ex girlfriend. He was SO flustered he didn't know how to act!! And what he did? Introduce the heroine as his FRIEND while she was SO MUCH MORE. I was .. God. It was hard to see. What was his excuse? HE DIDN'T WANT TO HURT HIS EX. He's cheating ex who hurt him FIRST. Because he was SO perfect and SO good. But while you've been so good and making your ex FEEL GOOD you hurt your girl instead. Oh he also hug the ex twice I might add. Go ahead and Dig the hole, push the knife in deeper.

After all of the above, this book was hard to care about. All I wanted to do was FINISH and I didn't had the drive to do it. I didn't swoon and I didn't felt a damn thing about anything. Even he's grand apology didn't moved me. I actually wanted the heroine with Tucker. She and him has more chemistry that she ever had with Nate.

Overall - 2.5 stars.

I liked the writing and the author is talented .. The story thought? Not so good.

4--Falling--Stars!!

This was my first Ginger Scott read, and I must say it was really good. This was a solid read for me. Maybe a little bit predictable and a story-line that I've read before. But very well-written and really made me feel, for both the MCs and their story.

Two years after a devastating tragedy left her socially isolated and fearful of moving on, Rowe finds herself starting college miles away from the comfort of her home.

"I was crossing off days on my calendar, putting one foot in front of the next, living a routine and getting to the next."

Rowe forgot what it was like to have friends. To be around others. To flirt with boys. To attend social events. Her life is full of many fears and this is Rowe's chance to move on from those fears. To overcome the pain and loss of her past.

Rowe's first week at school she meets Nate. Nate was....he was wow! His character was so refreshing. While he may have explored casual hookups in his past, he was secure enough to admit that that's not who he is. He wasn't interested in hooking up. He wasn't interested in playing games. He had a genuine interest in Rowe, and getting to know her.

Rowe wants to want Nate. She wants to let go of her past. She wants to fall in love and give herself completely to Nate. And slowly, piece by piece she does.

"I don't need all of her, not all at once. I am willing to wait for whatever pieces she's willing to give. And if I have to help her make each piece whole first, then so be it."

Once again, Nate was perfection. He was patient, he was kind, he was caring. He was everything that Rowe needed.

While this story may have lacked true steam, the emotional and physical connection between Nate and Rowe was very hot. The slow build of their relationship. Experiencing their first kiss and more. Watching Rowe let go of her past. It all gave me butterflies.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one. It was touching, it was sweet, there were some laugh out loud moments and some seriously swoon worthy moments! I'd definitely recommend this one!

When I saw this book on Netgalley, the cover was what drew me in and then I read the synopsis and was intrigued. I am so THANKFUL that I requested this book!! "This Is FALLING" was YA at it's best. I loved everything about this book. The BEST part of this book for me was NATE PREETER. Ladies get ready, there is a new Book Boyfriend in town, and he will have you swooning so hard, you won't know what hit you!!

Every girl deserves to find their own Nate Preeter.
He was Book Boyfriend PERFECTION!!!!!

Rowe Stanton is a freshman at McConnell University. For the past two years she has been home schooled by her mother back home in Arizona.
Something tragic happened to her and it involves her boyfriend Josh, and best friend, Betsy. Rowe's decision to go to a college in Oklahoma is a huge step for her as she has not left the safety of her home in the last two years. I thought I had the whole thing figured out but was completely shocked when her past was revealed. Her panic attacks and fear of being out in public places made perfect sense after the reveal.

Nate Preeter is also a freshman at McConnell. He's the star baseball player there on scholarship. Nate lives in the same dorm as Rowe and shares a room with his older brother Ty. Loved his brother and I wouldn't mind getting a book dedicated to his story.
Nate is gorgeous and I have to say it, LUSH!! There wasn't one thing wrong with that boy! I wanted to jump into the book and wrap myself around him. He is instantly attracted to Rowe, when he runs into her outside the shower room one night. The attraction is definitely mutual.
But Rowe is still holding on to loyalties to her High School boyfriend Josh.

It's obvious that she and Josh are no longer together but you won't really figure it all out until it's revealed at about the 30% mark in the book.
My heart broke for Rowe, and at the same time, I was impressed with how she was able to gather up the courage to leave the safety of her home, make new friends, and even had an incredible sense of humor. The pranks she played on Ty and Nate were hysterical.

 photo 4a5f477076517a0ae769c411dd34ab98_zps9bbdfd15.jpg

As in most YA stories, there is angst, and at times it had my stomach all in knots. I hoped that Rowe would find a way to get out of her head and grab that beautiful boy who was so into her. Nate was so patient and I hated every time he seemed crushed when he thought he was being rejected by Rowe.

Nate and Rowe will eventually get their act together and admit they have feelings for each other.

 photo 4ffd37e4376338a97076710f5f1311eb_zpsd8fa335d.jpg

The first time they have sex, was one of the most beautiful scenes I have read. I didn't think Nate could get any more amazing, but OMG, he put himself on my top ten list after that scene. He was so gentle with Rowe and the way he made love to her, it was as if he were worshiping her. Nate, I think I want to have your babies!!!!

More angst ensues towards the end and I was a tiny bit annoyed with one of the characters because those feelings of anger and betrayal were so displaced and so unwarranted in my opinion.
BUT, that letter at the end!!!!
I confess, I shed a few tears. That letter was beyond FABULOUS.
That's a letter that would make any girl give their heart completely over to the man who wrote it!!

If you are looking for a really good YA story and a book boyfriend who will confirm that perfect boys truly do only exist in books, this is the one for you!!!!

Overall Opinion: I have decided that I have, in fact, read this book before! BUT for some reason I didn't even have it as "read" or with any rating or review, so I decided to finish it so I could write one. It was ok. The h got on my nerves, and while I did like the H -- he wasn't fully my type of H. The subject matter was good and interesting and kept me engaged, but I don't think it'll be all that memorable in the long run (hence my not remembering that I had actually read it before) 🤷🏻‍♀️. I do think I might give Nate's brother Ty's book, You and Everything After, a chance because I do like stories with a mc having a disability (and I liked the h more than this one)...BUT I'm not so sure anymore after reading reviews and seeing that it doesn't have much closure either.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Rowe and Nate's story. They meet before classes start by literally bumping into one another by their dorm showers. Nate is the star baseball player, and Rowe is trying to start over and heal from a traumatic past. Nate is instantly interested in pursuing her, but she has some big obstacles in her way. Eventually their friendship turns to more and they fall in love. There is a little friend drama, some jealousy, a few sexy times, and some sad moments...and we get a HFN ending.

POV: This alternated between Rowe and Nate's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good until the end (see closure section below). Otherwise, I never skimmed and it flowed well.

Instalove: No, they take a while to develop stronger feelings.

H rating: 4 stars. Nate. He was pretty darn sweet! I personally like my H's a little more...rough, but he was sweet, sensitive, and I could appreciate how much he cared for the h.

h rating: 2.5 stars. Rowe. I felt bad for her past, but sometimes she bugged me with her pushing away and behavior.

Sadness level: Low/moderate. I teared up a few times, but no tissues were needed.

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Decent. They have some decent tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but there are just a few scenes and it is not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

Safe sex: Yes

OW/OM drama: Yes

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: Yes

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This had a really abrupt ending with not much closure at all. I would call it a HFN ending. I have a feeling we might get more closure for the couple with the other books in the series.

How I got it: It was part of my scribed subscription.

Safety: This one should be either Safe or Safe with exception for most safety gang readers depending on personal preferences.

5 That feeling - the feeling of falling STARS

 photo thisisfallingcollage_zps615b3b9c.jpg

I decided to read This is Falling because I enjoyed How We Deal with Gravity so much and there is something comforting about how Ginger Scott writes her stories. I was also a little hesitant too. I haven’t had much luck lately with NA books.

Shortly after I started reading though, I knew this one was going to be different. Ginger Scott slowly and gently lets Nate and Rowe’s story unfold. And as you can see by my rating I ended up LOVING this one.

I sometimes feel a bit awkward (for lack of a better word) when I am reading about college age characters. My son is in college and in a way I feel like I'm stepping into a world maybe I shouldn't be in. But I never got that feeling with Nate and Rowe. Maybe because to me, this book read more like two different stories that mingle at certain points to create such a sweet and loving relationship.

This is Falling is a story partly about a girl desperate to find a way to heal and let go of guilt from something that happens to her in high school and a story about two young adults falling in love and learning that love can bring about healing and happiness but it can also bring about pain and sadness.

 photo hearts_zps34b106a7.jpg

Rowe needed to regain her life again and move forward but she was struggling with letting go of her past. There was a lot of sadness filling Rowe’s heart. But just below that sadness there was happiness and love just desperate to come out. Little by little we start to see the real her. She is witty, beautiful and kind.

 photo Rowe_zps547346b4.jpg

“I let my arms loosen their grip, and Rowe slips away from me, but she doesn’t run……her hair dripping wet, and her face glistening from the water beading up on her skin. And then it’s there – the smile. The same look she had on her face in that picture. It’s joy. And I just gave it to her.” ~ Nate ❤

Nate was just a sweet guy. Though I know that perfect guy doesn’t exist, in this story Nate WAS that perfect guy. I think he needed to be. What I loved most about him was his humor. He was also very handsome and kind of sexy too. When he meets Rowe he knows instantly that she is different in such a way that he just needed to know more about her. And he did just that.

 photo Nate_zpsdc25bc40.jpg

"I stare at the door for a solid five seconds, weighing my options –
weighing everything Ty said. And in the end, I know I’m going to his game. Not because I want to be there for him, but because I want to see him. Because I need to tell him I love him and end the fussy face." ~ Rowe ❤

I’m not sure I can really talk much about the plot without giving too much away because I think in order to really enjoy Nate and Rowe’s story you have to just experience it. I will try to give you just bits and pieces hoping that you will want to read the story yourself.

Rowe experiences something as a young person that will break your heart. This experience breaks her as a person and for the last 2 years she has just been struggling with moving on. But heading off to college was the one thing that she and her family hoped would help her take her life back. To be happy again.

Meeting Nate excited Rowe as much as much as it frighten her. She wanted Nate in her life. That person to love. And Nate would become her angel, that sign she needed that it was okay to be happy again. He made her want her life back and so much more.

Nate knew he had to be patient with Rowe but there wasn’t anything he wasn’t willing to do for her. He took care with her feelings and even though there were times that he questioned her feelings for him he never gave up on her.

The things that Rowe and Nate experience together tugged at my heart so many times. Maybe it is the mom in me, but I just wanted to hug them when they were sad and when there was a lot of sweetness going on I had this stupid grin on my face. Their relationship seemed so real to me which only heightened my emotions and feelings. And i just love it when that happens.

I think I am going to stop there and let you experience the rest by yourself by reading the book.

Was this book absolutely perfect? Probably not. Is there something in the story that I wish happened a little differently? Yes. The selfish part in me wanted a little more time for the two of them in the end. I mean I was happy with how things ended but I just wanted a tiny bit more. Would I recommend this book to my GR friends? Of course I would!!! ❤

Ginger Scott did an amazing job with this story. (IMO) Not only does she give us two amazing main characters, we are blessed with meeting Ty and Cass as secondary characters. Ty is Nate’s brother. Their relationship was rather comical. And Cass was that perfect college roommate that was always so freaking jolly!! :) I’m intrigued by Ty and look forward to his story.

Rowe has lived existed for the last two years. Venturing away from the safety of her home for the first time, ready to start college and try to escape the pain and guilt that have trapped her for the last few years. Her plan was simple. Simply try, but wanting to run home the second her feet touched the unfamiliar ground of her new home.

Nate’s live has revolved around baseball since his brother’s dreams were snatched away. He had his choice of schools, but being close to his brother was all that was needed to make that decision. His focus was supposed to be on the field, on the ball... but that all changes when he sees her.

An awkward encounter in the hallway of the dorm becomes the start to a beautiful love story. Nate is impossible to ignore, his boyish charm and looks turns heads, but there is something about him that calms the storm within Rowe. For the first time in two years something someone has given her a reason to move forward.

He knew the instant he saw her that he’d fall for this girl, which was the easy part. Gaining her trust so she knew he’d catch her isn’t as easy. But with steady hands he pushes her into a freefall.
________________

I fell in love with this story. That feeling of butterflies as the two characters meet for the first time, it was there – big time. My heart rate, my stalled breathing... it all was just there. I felt her nerves and I swear my own palms felt clammy. That feeling, that wonderful encompassing warmth, when you read a story that captures you. Ginger Scott drew me into this story and I wanted to stay.

Screenshot_5

Rowe was tragically broken but not that weakened heroine that makes you want to pull out your hair and slap sense into her. She was endearing and completely lovable.

“This is still flirting, and it’s going to make being just friends damned near impossible. But right now, I don’t give a shit.”

And Nate? Sigh.

Screenshot_6

Fumbling and absolutely adorable at every turn. He is the kind of guy that every girl should be lucky enough to fall in love with. He has confidence, but when it comes to Rowe he’s tongue-tied and a little unsure. His fumbles were of the swoony variety and my heart was claimed in an instant.

“And then it’s there – the smile. The same look she had on her face in that picture. It’s joy. And I just gave it to her. My god, do I want to give it to her again.”

What surprised me the most was the all the laughter, I anticipated a dramatic read but found myself having to set this down from time to time to let the giggles escape. These two, well really these five (yes even Paige) were perfection. The little pranks and inner musing of the characters gave the story levity where it was needed.

“Sorry. You’re really pretty when you laugh, and a man can’t be held responsible for how he reacts to you laughing. You should be mindful of that. You could end up getting kissed by waiters at restaurants, professors, frat guys. Now, wait. No frat guys. Just ugly waiters and old professors.”

This is one of those stories where you don’t necessarily wonder where it’s leading. It is a love story after all. But the moments when the characters are exposed bit by bit and the past is revealed it gives you a major case of the feels.

I was so happy to see the note from the author that Ty is getting a story. From what we see of him in This is Falling, I am sure that the strong exterior that he puts on display is going to be proven to be more of a façade and I am so looking forward to see what lies beneath the man that is so quick with a joke.

This being my second Ginger Scott read I now know that I will not hesitate to pick up another book she’s written. A book is a place where you should be able to lose yourself, an escape into a new world where worries can be left behind. This is Falling was such a pleasure to read, a smile was firmly in place nearly the entire time while reading this one and I am eager to continue on with this series.

5 FELL IN LOVE STARS! ★★★★★

"Two years ago, I was doomed to never fit in again-like a wounded superhero tattooed by kryptonite.

You know that amazing feeling when you pick up a book & when you read it, you feel all these wondrous butterfly feelings that you can't really explain? This book is the answer to it. I fell in love with this story. A heart-achingly, beautiful story that is brilliantly written with lovable characters from start to finish.

The story is told from a dual POV. It's been almost 2 years since Rowe Stanton survived the tragedy that stole her heart & left her with scars. Being home-schooled since then, now she's ready to enter college far away from home, leaving behind her the painful memories that haunts her and ready to restart her life again.

After self-isolation for 2 years, Rowe is socially awkward & is afraid of meeting new people. But when she first meets her 2 new roommates (who are twin sisters) & the cute hot guy living down her hall, she might just remember how to live again.

Nate Preeter sounds like your usual college heartthrob guy; he plays baseball, he's witty, funny and charming. But what I truly love about Nate is that he's not that typical college guy you usually read about. He's not that cocky guy that is confident in always getting the girl he wants. Even with his charming demeanor, he can still get tongue-tied & slips up a little bit when he's with Rowe. I loved how real Nate's character was and his patience with Rowe was super endearing that it got me swooning all the way ♥♥♥

"But this is also one of those things I can fix - I may not be able to bend time, but I can fill in the memories."

Despite the heavy emotional undertone of this story, you'll be surprised that it is packed with so much humor especially from all our lovable side characters especially Ty, Nate's paralyzed brother and the twin sisters, Cass & Paige. It was so well written that I could literally feel myself reliving my college days, filled with pranks and fun that got me laughing so hard! I'm so glad Ty and Cass will have their own book soon!

While this may sound like a typical cliche college romance story, I assure you that Ginger Scott has turned it into something so beautiful & wonderful that it will have you feeling all sorts of real emotions as you read. I laughed, I cried, I giggled and I swooned. I was rooting for my couple like a cheerleader on the bleachers. But most of all, I fell in love so hard with this couple and this amazingly beautiful story ♥

“And then it’s there – the smile. The same look she had on her face in that picture. It’s joy. And I just gave it to her. My god, do I want to give it to her again.”

This is my first book by Ginger Scott and it will definitely NOT be the last. I can't urge you strongly enough to give this lovely story a try because it's one of those exceptional story that sticks with you for a good while :)

So join Ms. Scott as she takes her readers on one touching, funny, and emotional journey of Rowe Stanton as she falls in love and learns to live again.

“You should make more wishes.”

For two years, Rowe Stanton was at a standstill in her life after a tragic occurrence left her just existing and going through the motions. For two years, her fears have stripped and left her bare, vulnerable, and raw. That tragic event continues to haunt her for what was taken from her. Lives were lost and for Rowe Stanton, a part of her life died that day too. When Rowe finally found what little courage she had left to TRY and MOVE ON, she decided to take baby steps in the right direction of going away to college. For the first time, Rowe didn’t have the safety net of her parents to fall back on. Though scared and ridden with anxiety, Rowe took one big leap to try.

THisISFalling_3

Nate Preeter was the all American boy. His life revolved around his family and baseball. When his brother, Ty’s dreams of playing baseball were shattered after an accident, Nate took it upon himself to fulfill the dreams of his big brother.

Call it fate or luck, Rowe meets Nate in the dorm hallways after an awkward run in. For Rowe, Nate was her ideal type. And vice versa. After a somewhat flirtatious conversation, thank god for social network sites like Facebook, Nate was able to track down and message Rowe. From then on, Rowe and Nate begins their beautiful love story. And for the first time after two years, Rowe begins to finally let go of the past and live. Nate gives her hope for a future. Knowing that Rowe has deep emotional scars and baggage that runs deep, Nate accepts all of Rowe. There is no, ifs and buts. He wants all of Rowe not just the little pieces. Nate Preeter was the ultimate sweetheart. He didn’t rush his relationship with Rowe and made sure she was comfortable. Once they finally learned to trust each other, for first time in Rowe Stanton she wanted to fall. Fall in love. Fall and embrace her new life. And most importantly, fall and have Nate Preeter to catch her fall.

“And then it’s there – the smile. The same look she had on her face in that picture. It’s joy. And I just gave it to her. My god, do I want to give it to her again.”

ThisISFalling_2

Ginger Scott is indeed and a storyteller and This is Falling is another perfect example of how she breathed life into the story of Rowe Stanton and Nate Preeter. She captured my full attention in this book and I literally found myself consumed with this story. I cried, laughed, swooned, cried again, and then found myself having a big fat smile on my face when I was done with the book. Ms. Scott brought life to Rowe, Nate, Cass, Ty, Paige and Josh. These were not just fictional characters but characters that felt real. The raw emotions of these characters were felt throughout the book. What I truly love about this book was how real the storyline felt. Life is not perfect. Death exist. Nothing in life is full of hearts and rainbows. And sometimes there are times in life, its okay to be selfish. But the beauty of life, is the promise of tomorrow. The greatest gift in life are second chances. And in This is Falling, it reminds us all that its okay to cry, move on, and love again. We can either be afraid or we can take that chance to let go and fall. And if we are lucky, there is someone to catch our fall. Overall, this book is one of those stories that must be experienced. Be prepared to fall head over heels in love with Nate Preeter. <3

Sadly, I don't think this was the book for me (sorry Jasmine! *hides* lol).

This Is Falling is the story of reclusive Rowe, yet another new adult heroine who does not see that she is amazing and has the popular hot guy fawning all over her within a matter of minutes. Normally I'm all for the damaged heroine plots, but for some reason this one didn't really stick with me. Maybe if the author told Rowe's story earlier on in the book I might have cared about her issues more? Anyways, this is the story of how Rowe and Nate meet and fall in love within a 3 weeks time period.

“And it happens all at once—just looking at him, I fall in love. But it doesn’t matter—because I can belong to no one.”

Don't get me wrong, this book was really sweet and I did enjoy it, but it didn't have much of a wow factor for me. So, I liked this book, but did not love it. I didn't find anything particularly special about either of the MC's and honestly, Nate just always seemed too good to be true.

“I’m not angry at Rowe, I’m angry at myself for falling for her—for falling for a girl who can’t let herself be mine to love.”

What I did love about the book, was the side characters Cass and Ty. I am pretty darn excited that they get their own book! But on the subject of Ty.... Why the hell was he on the third floor of the dorm and not the first? I would think it'd be an issue if he couldn't get to and from his room because the elevator broke down. (I lived in a 9th floor dorm room, believe me when I say that the darn elevators actually do break down in dorms!) Sorry to rant, but that really bugged me.

This book was also way too much instalove for my taste. So in the end, I would say this book was enjoyable, but I didn't love it. I think other people other than me would thoroughly enjoy this and I'd have no problems recommending it.

"You are the face in all of my dreams and the smile I see when I close my eyes. Your voice when you sing in the shower late at night, when you think you’re alone, is like music to my ears.”

2 Could Have Been Better Stars

ARC provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Rowe isn't ready to leave her house yet but after two years of seclusion, it's time to face the music in a college way farther away than she is comfortable with. Surprisingly the distance turns out to be exactly what she needed to learn to live again. The distance and a boy named Nate. Nate is there to teach her how to some back to the living but Rowe isn't ready for a boyfriend yet.

Nate can't get Rowe out of his mind from the second he lays eyes on her. She is everything he likes on a girl, no fake nails, no fake eyelashes, not 5 layers of make up. She is a nice girl, slightly tomboyish, exactly his type. But it's obvious she comes with baggage. Luckily Nate isn't a guy to back down because of this.

It seems I'm gonna be the odd one here and say that I didn't like this book. It was not the worst I've read but it wasn't one of the good ones for me. But it obviously is just me because everyone seems to love it.

My main issue is that I've gotten sick of authors emasculating their heroes. I grew up with two male cousins and my best friend is also a guy. I've heard gruesome stories about their girlfriends, their fantasies, their future dreams. I can absolutely guarantee you that at 18 none of them dreamed of finding his "someone special". They fell in love of course, but they fell out of love just as easily, they had crashes, they had relationships. But not one of them did actively go out to find his "one". Hell, I'm a girl and I wasn't dreaming of finding my "one". So I'm really sorry but I just don't believe in Nate as a character, because he is exactly like every other YA and NA character out there. The jock who is different from the pack, who wants his special girl, who can't stand whoring around, who loves his parents and isn't embarassed to admit it, who knows his girl has some serious issues and is supportive to a fault. Thanks, but no thanks.

Now, one would probably ask, did I want an asshole as a hero? Well no, and I honestly wouldn't mind his falling in love with the girl but I just couldn't stand his girly "I'm looking for the special one, don't like sleeping around, don't like behaving like a jerk" persona.

The heroine had baggage a mile long. In my opinion she was too whiny, her thoughts mostly, not the face she showed in public but since we get to read her thoughts too... The first half of the book was mostly "oh poor me, see what I went through", that bored me to tears. She is as predictable as they come and her unoriginality, coupled with the slut-shaming in the beginning of the book and the whinning just gave me homocidal thoughts.

Still I've read Wait for You and liked it and the whole story resembled it . My guess is that I just wasn't up to this one right now. Maybe I'll try it again in the future and it'll work better.

PS. I don't think I'll read Cass and Ty's story. I liked how confident and arrogant Ty was despite not being able to walk. I don't want to read some sob story about how this is all a front and he is all sensitive and devastated inside.

Rowe Stanton is an 18 yr. old girl living in Phoenix, Arizona. After a tragic event rocked her whole world two years ago, she has been homeschooled ever since. She has hardly left her own home, being a prisoner to her fear. Her social skills have suffered while she's lived in her own little bubble, and she's tired of being shut down & wants to put herself back out there.

 photo aff1ccba-44f4-486e-92a6-d7cfa994da79.jpg

It's time for Rowe to start college & she picks one in Oklahoma that is far away from home. She wants to step out of her comfort zone & try to be normal again, & stand on her own two feet without the crutch of her parents.

On Rowe's first night getting settled into her new dorm, she literally runs into a guy that lives on her hall. His name is Nate Preeter & he is the catcher for their college baseball team. This guy is everything her old self would have wanted in a guy. He is kind, funny, & absolutely gorgeous! Nate is persistent, & eventually gets a lunch date & they start hanging out.

Nate is patient with Rowe, and they become friends. They grow closer, and she lets her guard down & begins to let him into heart. Rowe starts to feel like a normal college girl & Nate helps her to feel alive again.

What a fabulous, special guy with a heart of gold! His character was just dreamy & totally swoon worthy! This book was also hilarious! I loved all the pranks & the friendships in this book! I look forward to reading more in this series! Just LOVE those Preeter brothers! :D

A tragedy two years ago left Rowe broken. Now off to college, she meets Nate. Will he be able to bring her out of her shell and feel again?

Sooo... I think it might be a case of having read too many similar books, it just felt rather average to me. The heroine was your typical closed off broken type. The hero was nice. I just wasn't motivated enough to continue.

This book wasnt for me but if you are looking for something with a broken heroine and a sweet guy, this might be the book.

~~5 I'm Falling Stars~~

description..
I felt i was over the edge after Reading this!!..

Since i heard many great things about This is Falling. I knew that i have to get my hands on it. i was beyond happy to receive an Arc.

My first read by Ginger Scott. and what a great way to start reading her books!. she for sure gained a fan! :D

Once you read This is Falling, you get to feel every emotion. One minute i'm laughing, smiling. the other, had the urge to hug someone and cry myself.

Nate. oh nate! How to describe him!?. he's simply the whole package!, a loving, caring, patient. funny. A true sweetheart.

Why there weren't men like Nate when i was a freshmen???! ugh *Reality*

Rowe. i really adore her, she really been through many struggles, and fears. after a horrific event in her past. all the time she feels guilty, empty. Nate was so patient with her, understanding on what Rowe went through.

"I love looking at her body. I love watching her come out of her shell. And i want to make her whole."

She is ready to have her adventure in life. to feel alive again,

They first meet at the dorm hallway, Nate knew that this girl is his "Type". he got intrigued to know her more.

"She's not the kind of girl that spends an hour getting ready to go out for the night. She's blue jeans and T-shirts, Burgers and fries."

The way their relationship build what caught me more! not like many NA books who get to the point. i love their friendship, the way they tease each other, their inside jokes. and pranks. it really made me laugh. they were simply down to earth couple.

Ginger Scott. presented this story in incredible way, loved how she delivered each "Event" in a perfect way. I'm looking forward for
Ty's story. i really loved his character. so please don't leave me waiting!!

"I love you so much it makes me selfish-greedy for you. I want you all to myself

So many tragedies happen daily and after a few months we all forget about them, but what happens to those who were affected, those who can't forget and struggle to move on? This book is about the light at the end of the tunnel, is about finding love for a second time and giving into it without guilt or reservations. Beautiful written story that I would recommend to everybody, as I'm sure we could all gain something from reading it. The characters were very likable and the plot well though out, I loved it and I can't wait to read the next book on this series.

Rowe experienced something very dramatic during her senior year in high school. After being homeschooled for 2 years she desperately wants to move on with her life.

She chooses a college hundred miles away from her home, family and painful memories. Its her chance to start living again. But homeschooling, the constantly fears and agoraphobia made her a little socially awkward.

Nate.. even though he is an awesome and popular baseball player, he is not a manwhore or asshole. After his ex-girlfriend cheated on him he tried to do one night stands but noticed pretty fast that this wasn't for him. He doesn't want to be with just anyone. He wants to be with someone. And this someone is Rowe.

Rowe is exactly his type.

But he notices that Rowe is not like other girls and for that reason he wants her even more. And he is willing to be patient with her.

He helps her to overcome her fears and to start living again.

This books has awesome characters.

Each of them, even Paige who seemed very bitchy at the beginning.
I liked that the story wasn't too dramatic but it had too little steam for my liking.

It was overall a great and funny read and I would definitely recommend it. I'm really looking forward to Ty and Cass' book.

- AUDIO RE-READ -

4 Falling to Stars

If you are looking for a NA novel, set during college with mild drama and sweet romance, then This is Falling is for you

Rowe is a damaged girl. She was home schooled for the past two years and now that she is a freshman in college, it’s time to start fresh and new. She’s working on opening up, making friends and doing things on her own, but it’s hard to get over a rough past.

Nate is a star baseball player and could play anywhere, but he picked the same school as his older brother. His brother is in a wheelchair and can’t play baseball anymore. Nate is living his brother’s dream. He notices a girl in the hallway in his dorms late at night and runs into her. He can’t get Rowe out of his mind, even if she’s a bit stand offish, there’s something about Rowe Nate is fascinated about.

Rowe

Rowe is the damsel in distress girl I love to read and no, she isn’t weak or annoying, but sweet and very adorable. Something happens in her past and it has left Rowe a little battered and scared. She doesn’t have any friends and she doesn’t open up easily. She wants to get to know Nate better, but she’s still reserved around him. She rooms with two roommates. The roommates are twin sisters and are complete opposites. I love them. Even though one of the sisters’ a complete you know what, I love the interaction between Rowe and her friends. The friends will be in the next books.

Nate

Nate is your typical college guy. He’s good looking, popular and everyone wants to hook up with him. He isn’t a typical book player, in the sense, he’s mostly focused on his brother and his baseball life. He likes Rowe because she isn’t like other girls and he actively goes for her. I like that Nate was into Rowe because Rowe isn’t girlie or flirty. I liked that Nate found the whole fresh and clean look attractive.
I liked Nate a lot. He seemed like a good guy with great intentions, although at times he was too much like a typical guy. At one point he did mention to Rowe that he wouldn’t wait forever when Rowe was acting flaky.

Overall

I did an audio re-read. I’ve read a few Ginger Scott books and what I notice is that Ginger likes to write real emotions and real drama. I was drawn with the cover and the summary. Originally, I was surprised on how much I enjoyed it. The storyline is adorable and fairly simple. Damage girl meets boy and boy tries to fix girl.

At times Rowe does act a little too young for her age. I understand she is innocent and she has been home schooled for two years, but she did have a normal life before all the stuff that happened. Other than that, I really liked how the relationship between Nate and Rowe develops.

It’s a slow developing relationship, so the steam level is mild, but I kind of like it like that. You get to know the characters fairly well and really believe the relationship.
Audio Questions

If you could sum up This Is Falling in three words, what would they be?

Emotional, Youthful, Romance

What did you like best about this story?

I like the college setting. I like finding lasting love during college, maybe because I found mine there. I liked how real Rowe and Nate’s relationship was. There wasn’t really anything defined between them and it just slowly progressed and built into something more. I liked that. I liked that they got to know each other and it wasn’t insta-lust at first.

What does Melissa Moran bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

This was my first Melissa Moran narration. This is actually my first narration where the female narrator reads the male parts as well. I will be honest and say I am spoiled with male narrators. I love listening to a deep male voice and I felt a little disappointment when I didn’t get that. However, Melissa did a great job in transition into Nate’s voice. I’m a huge fan of narrators that can transition well between characters. I found Melissa’s voice very sweet and her pace was good.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I liked that Rowe’s past was revealed fairly quickly in the book. It wasn’t a huge secret and because of her past it kind of shaped the tone and feel for the rest of the book. I thought her issues were valid and I felt her pain. I also thought the body scars and imagine problems added nice dynamic to the read. It was very emotional.

5 Nate & Rowe Stars

What I love about a great New Adult romance Ginger Scott fully provides in This is Falling. That being the way this time period of our lives fills us with possibility. We’re so vulnerable as young adults figuring out who we want to be, creating a persona for ourselves based on the values our parents instilled in us and what we’ve come value as individuals. It’s a time when falling in love is most precarious because of the discoveries we’re making yet the most exciting because we’re open to the possibility. A time in our lives when falling in love happens so naturally, on instinct with a fluttering we get just from flirting. It’s a delicate balance. Can we find ourselves and find everlasting love? Ginger Scott presents this to her readers in a beautiful love story between two people with the added challenge of the heroine’s tragic past.

The main characters of this story, Nate Preeter and Rowe Stanton, make an automatic connection felt through the dynamically scripted words of this author. I felt connected to them, wanted to hang out with them, laughed at their banter and most of all – I believed in them. Rowe’s past gives us a unique kind of tragedy. It’s not labored over but the emotion is felt all the same. It makes you question what you would do in Rowe’s situation. How would you feel having suffered this same brutality? And on of top of it calls into question the timing of moving on. The all-American guy next door, Nate Preeter, definitely makes us want him. I love when baseball weaves itself into the pages of a romance. His reactions to Rowe are heartfelt. He’s a guy you want to be with because he believes in the simplicity of women, of relationships. I’d be remiss not to mention the incredible cast of secondary characters, specifically Ty and Cass. All the secondary’s help make the book amazing with their involvement and friendship, I’m very much looking forward to Ty and Cass’s story next.

Through dual points of view and simple, believable writing Ginger Scott provided me a story I’ll remember with characters in which I rooted for and wanted to strive. This author wrote a great new adult romance and I’m beyond happy to have to read this story. It’s funny. It’s sad. It’s challenging. It’s creative. It’s fulfilling. This is Falling reminds us what young love is supposed to look like. I very much look forward to the next in the series.

MY RATING ☆☆☆☆☆ This is Falling (Falling, #1)by Ginger Scott

❤️ three fifty - seven stars ❤️

I'd had this sitting on my trusty ipad glaring at me to read it, after going through all my books and seeing this sitting there patiently for weeks on end still not even peeked at I took that plunge and I swear i could not put it down, yes it is YA and generally a genre I tend not to really jump on but am I glad I took that plunge!!

❤️ A girl with a constant reminder, a girl with scars ❤️

❤️ Breathe,just breathe ❤️

I for the life of me could not put this down, I laughed, I had a few tear leaks and I loved every minute of reading this, the only negative is I have a HUGE MOTHER of a book hangover, you know those ones where you have books waiting for you to read you try and get into them but for the life of you, you can't, yep it's one of those freaking book hangovers!!

❤️ A girl locked in the past ❤️

So if you are like me wanting a book where you will fall in love with the characters please look no further, give this a shot, I guarantee like me you will love it..

❤️ Seize the moment and not living with regrets, take the plunge on love ❤️

The practical jokes these two played on the other were epic!!

I will wait for you, for as long as it takes, forever if I have to, I'll wait forever ~ Nate

❤️ This is falling ❤️

4.5 stars...

There were so many things I liked about this book that I think list form would be best...

1. Characters. I loved the secondary characters as much as the primary ones. Obviously I really enjoyed Nate and Rowe, but I really liked Ty, Cass, and even Paige as well, and I'm looking forward to their novels. I was especially happy when Paige became a more dimensional character. At first I thought she was going to be the stereotypical "bad guy" in the story, but she really surprised me and I actually ended up liking her a whole lot! Even Sadie's character was handled really well and there wasn't too much drama and fall out from it. All in all the characters and their interactions were handled really well.

2. How They Meet. I LOVED how normal it was. So many stories today involve crazy meet cutes (not that I mind) so it was really nice to see something so normal. And I feel the same about Nate's pursuit of Rowe, it was all so normal and that might make it sound boring but it really wasn't. Nate's perspective was actually pretty funny at times and Rowe's anxiety kept the story at a good pace.

3. Nate. I really liked his character. He was romantic without being cheesy, funny without being corny, and very genuine. I also liked that he knew he wanted a relationship, that was another normal thing that has become kind of uncommon. The theme with guys these days is that they're either tortured and not looking for love or man-whores (again, I don't mind these things) but it was definitely a nice change.

4.

There really wasn't much I disliked. I did think the ending was a little rushed and but these things were minor and didn't take away anything from the overall enjoyment of this novel. :)

3.5 Nate's Falling Stars!

I feel like this gif depicts my general impression of Nate (hero) so well. Starts off good, things are going well, but oh shit, I'm not that perfect, can't keep it together! Ohhhh fuuuuck...realization begins to set in, yeah I'm screwed.
description

So lemme give you some background before I tell you why Nate pissed me off. I feel like this is your cardboard, textbook NA/YA formula thus why it only takes a sentence to explain the premise of the book. Heroine has something tragic happen to her, then her knight in shining armor comes to save her, insta luving ensues, and all is right with the world, but this knight kinda sucked.

I think that was my biggest problem with this book, the formula felt cardboard/text book and the characters, to me, felt like cardboard. Very one dimensional, I didn't get any feels from them. I think Rowe beat the world record for saying sorry, over and over. She is too closed off and Nate is too perfect. I think if there had been a prologue of Rowe and the "incident" that would have set a better tone for the book. I felt sympathy for her but she is so stuck in her own head and she sees Nate and all of a sudden she immediately opens up to him?? Uh huh.
description

Nate, oh Nate..you came off so perfect. Star baseball player, hot, and so sweet and caring. He fell for Rowe immediately, completely enamoured. What I couldn't figure out is why he treated her like dog crap at several points in the book. Spoiler time lovies!!

I know it seems like I loathed the book, I really didn't. It was a good, albeit predictable read. I just have my issues with books and this hero struck a nerve way too many times. Now with that said, will I continue on with this series? Maybe..Ty's (Nate's bro) story is next, and I feel like there is more of a story there since he seemed to have, I dunno, a personality. Overall, a decent, good not great read. If you want something lighter and fluffy with snippets of dumbassery then go for it. :-)
