A photograph of Beirut from 1945 is fading into overlapping images of construction, destruction, renovation, reconstruction then deconstruction of a city all along with ongoing noises of a never ending 'under construction' stage. Is the 'chameleon city' arising throughout its history?

'wired' is an investigation about the power of collective denial in one of the most overpopulated cities in Lebanon and the Middle-East. It questions the domination of denial in regards to the aesthetics of life and the connotation of living in a specific society. The idea of looking up into the wires connected to buildings on both sides and striping the open space brings out the history of the society woes and illustrate the background of people living in this particular space. Whether the cables are for Internet, electricity power or satellite the question remains: are we connected or just wired?

An assemblage of videos from - Colombia-Denmark-Dubai-Finland-France-Germany-Lebanon-Netherlands-Norway and Sweden - filmed with multiple digital devices between 2008 and 2014, are investigating the overflow of digital images due to the accessibility on any electronic device, the extensive exposure on social mediums and the vast demand from television. Are we seeing, or just looking?
