Exclusive: Archstone Entertainment has acquired international rights to Little League Baseball drama You Gotta Believe, starring Luke Wilson, Academy Award nominee Greg Kinnear, Sarah Gadon, and Molly Parker, and will begin sales at the AFM.

Directed by Ty Roberts (12 Mighty Orphans) from a script by Lane Garrison, the sports drama follows the true story of a Little League team of misfits who dedicate their season to a teammate’s ailing father. Against all odds, they make it to the World Series finals in a game that became an ESPN classic.

The film was produced by Matt Harvey, Houston Hill, and Roberts’ Santa Rita Film Co, and released on 730 screens on August 30 by Well Go USA.

Exclusive: Saban Films has boarded domestic rights to Neil Marshall’s (The Descent) upcoming thriller Compulsion, starring Charlotte Kirk (Duchess), Anna-Marie Sieklucka (365 Days), Zach McGowan (Black Sails) and Matthew Camilleri (Jurassic World: Dominion).

Pic tells the story of two women on the island of Malta who become caught up in a string of horrifying murders.

Marshall wrote and directed the film and the producer is Kristyna Sellnerova (Duchess). Amp handles international sales.

Kirk recently starred in action-thriller Duchess, directed by Marshall, and can be seen in suspense drama Exit Protocol with Dolph Lundgren and Michael Jai White. Sieklucka is best known for Netflix hit 365 Days and its sequel.

Beloved character actor John Ashton has died at the age of 76, it has been confirmed. The prolific star of stage and screen, who made memorable turns in the likes of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise and Midnight Run during a career that spanned over half a century, passed away on Thursday in Fort Collins, Colorado after a short battle with cancer.

News of Ashton's passing was shared by a rep of the actor, who issued the following statement: “John was a loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. John leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service. His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, children, grandchildren, as well as his brother, sisters, his extended family and all who loved him. “Clutch” was partially inspired by true events; writer-producer Michael Merino based the story on a real life car-jacking of a female rideshare-driver who was taken hostage by a criminal on the run from his less-than-law-abiding accomplices, who were involved in a deleterious enterprise that was never solved.

According to the official logline, “Clutch” follows the story of Tonya (Sadie Katz), whose life is in a bit of a shambles and works as a share-driver to make ends-meet, and is under the thumb of her sugar daddy (Michael Pare’). As Amazon MGM and Mattel continue to cast the main roles in the upcoming live-action Masters of the Universe reboot, we may know which actor is being courted to play the villainous Skeletor.

According to Jeff Sneider, none other than Jared Leto has been offered the role.

Before this article gets underway, let's address the elephant in the room, which is: will there be an "Expendables 5" ("Expend5bles?") at all? The fourth installment, released a year ago this month, got its butt handed to it at the box office, making barely half of its budget back. Alison Brie is the latest superstar to join the live-action “Masters of the Universe” movie from Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films.

Brie has been cast as supervillain Evil-Lyn, starring opposite Nicholas Galitzine’s central hero He-Man and Camila Mendes.

Plot details are being kept under wraps for the film — which will be released theatrically on June 5, 2026 — but the story centers on Prince Adam of Eternia, who transforms into the muscular He-Man. With the help of his magical Power Sword, the hero is tasked with defending his home planet from the evil sorcerer Skeletor. Evil-Lyn is Skeletor’s second-in-command and wields a magic wand topped with a crystal orb.

"Deadpool 2" is known for many things. It was the sequel to one of the biggest R-rated hits in cinema history. It also did the classic thing of going bigger than its predecessor, with larger action set pieces and more characters from throughout the Marvel universe -- most notably, the time-traveling mutant Cable, a fan-favorite from the comics who was played by Josh Brolin in the film. But before Brolin landed the part, a certain WWE superstar auditioned for the role.

Randy Orton, aka The Viper, was recently a guest on the WWE talk show "What Do You Wanna Talk About?" During the conversation, the longtime staple of the ring revealed that he auditioned for the role of Cable, which would have been by far his biggest foray into Hollywood to date. As Orton explained in the interview, his journey with the character was a short one:

Today, Heroic Signatures announced the company is in production on its first animated feature film for its popular franchise, Mutant: Year Zero. Based on Mutant: Year Zero Road to Eden, a tactical adventure video game first released in 2018, the film follows an unlikely team of animal mutants as they navigate a post-apocalyptic wasteland in search of answers.

Dolph Lundgren and Ian McElhinney will lend their voices to the feature, with more talent to be announced soon.

The Cannes Film Festival has a storied history of infamous moments. Shane Dax Taylor directs the assassins-in-action film project, and Charlotte Kirk joins the lead cast. Fight or Flight is going to Cannes.
