Today, Netflix announced that Virgin River has been renewed for a seventh season consisting of 10 one-hour episodes. Season 6 will premiere on Netflix on December 19, 2024.

Across its five seasons, the series has appeared in the Global Top 10 TV (English) list for 25 weeks since Netflix’s weekly Top 10 lists started in 2021. Most recently, the fifth season reached the top 10 in 77 countries.

Patrick Sean Smith will return as showrunner and executive producer of the seventh season. The additional executive producers include Sue Tenney, Amy Palmer Robertson, Roma Roth, Christopher E. Perry, Robyn Carr, Erin Cardillo, Richard Keith, and Jennifer Monroe.

Netflix confirmed the upcoming sixth season of Virgin River won’t be its last. The streamer officially announced the series has been renewed for a 10-episode season seven. The announcement was made ahead of the show’s December 19, 2024 sixth season premiere.

Just in time for Christmas — the sixth season of Virgin River is set to premiere Dec. 19. And it’s not one of those half-season drops that Netflix has been doing a lot of lately — all 10 episodes of Season 6 will be available that day.

That is slightly ahead of schedule — Netflix at the start of February unveiled its 2024 original slate, and Virgin River, along with a slew of other fan favorites, like Stranger Things, Ginny & Georgia and Wednesday, were not on the list, pointing to a 2025 return.

However, nothing is set in stone — Virgin River is the second series originally eyed for 2025 that will be back sooner than anticipated. The other is The Lincoln Lawyer, whose third season was delivered early and will debute Oct. 17.

Meanwhile, a series that was on Netflix’s 2024 release list, Season 2 of breakout hit The Night Agent, is yet to get a premiere date.

Written by Jefferies and Martin, the untitled sitcom stars Jefferies as a fictionalized version of himself, offering his unique take on modern life and the complexity of relationships.

Look who’s talking… again!

A whopping 30 years after the 1989 John Travolta/Kirstie Alley comedy Look Who’s Talking hit theaters, Sony Pictures’ Screen Gems is taking baby steps on a reboot.

Deadline reports the project is underway, with Jeremy Garelick (The Wedding Ringer) set to write and direct. Though Garelick is early in the process, the outlet says he’s “looking at a version that will allow for a diverse cast.”

The original film was written by Clueless scribe Amy Heckerling and had a unique perspective on parenting, featuring voice-over by Bruce Willis giving baby Mikey’s hilarious point of view.

ABC Family has cancelled the cancer drama “Chasing Life,” TheWrap has learned. The series, starring Italia Ricci as an aspiring journalist diagnosed with cancer, will not return for a third season. The drama stars Italia Ricci as April, a 24-year-old journalist who discovers she has leukemia. Her family — mom Sara (Mary Page Keller), sister Brenna (Haley Ramm), grandmother Emma (Rebecca Schull) and uncle George (Steven Weber) — are her support system, in addition to best friend Beth (Aisha Dee).

ABC Family has announced premiere dates for its summer schedule. In addition to returns for "Pretty Little Liars," "Switched at Birth" and "The Fosters," three new series -- "Chasing Life," "Young & Hungry" and "Mystery Girls" -- will premiere.

New drama Chasing Life will premiere after Pretty Little Liars on Tuesday, June 10, at 9 p.m. Et, while the net’s returning series Switched at Birth and The Fosters will air Monday, June 16, at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., respectively. The cast was given the good news today, just in time for Thanksgiving. The back order brings the first season of Chasing Life to 20 episodes, which is ABC Family’s standard for a full season. Chasing Life, from Kapital Entertainment, Lionsgate, Televisa and Bv Family Prods, hails from the same pilot batch as ABC Family dramas The Fosters and Twisted. On Wednesday (April 24), the cable net announced that its given the greenlight to one-hour drama "Chasing Life" (formerly "Terminales"). The series, adapted from a successful Televisa Spanish-language Mexican television series will go into production in Santa Clarita in July, expected to premiere in early 2014.

The series follows twenty-something April (Italia Ricci, "Unnatural History"), a smart and quick-witted aspiring journalist whose life is upended after she is diagnosed with cancer. The cast includes Mary Page Keller ("NYPD Blue"), Aisha Dee ("I Hate My Teenage Daughter"), Richard Brancatisano ("The Elephant Princess") and Haley Ramm ("Red State").

Aaron Kaplan ("Gcb," "Terra Nova") will executive produce, along with Susanna Fogel and Joni Lefkowitz, who wrote the pilot.

After lengthy deal-making process, ABC Family has given a series order to drama Chasing Life (formerly Terminales) for a launch in early 2014. Chasing Life, which I hear has received a 13-episode pickup, joins new ABC Family drama series The Fosters and Twisted, meaning all three ABC Family pilots from the most recent cycle went to series. (The network passed on its comedy pilots, Phys Ed and Continuing Fred.) Chasing Life is an adaptation of the successful Televisa Spanish-language Mexican television series. The pilot was produced by Lionsgate in association with Televisa. As part of the series pickup, ABC Family and its in-house production arm Bv Family Prods have come on board as co-producers. Kapital Entertainment’s Aaron Kaplan (The Neighbors), who has shepherded the project for the past two years, is executive producing alongside writers Susanna Fogel and Joni Lefkowitz, who joined last year and whose script was greenlighted to pilot.
