In 1988, Keith Charles, along with several others, was a co-founder of The Secular Humanist Society of New York. He served as the first president of The Secular Humanist Society of New York as well as serving as the first editor of the group's newsletter. He was a very active and proud freethinker.
Was a seasoned veteran, from the late '60s to the late '80s, of several daytime soap operas including "The Edge of Night," "The Secret Storm," "Search for Tomorrow", "Love of Life," "As the World Turns," "One Life to Live" and "Ryan's Hope".
