The 1998 graduating class of Huntington Hillside High School is finally getting together for their 25th reunion… and it’s a musical!
On Saturday, Can’t Hardly Wait co-writer/director Deborah Kaplan announced a stage musical in the works based on her and Harry Elfont‘s 1998 cult classic teen movie, which starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ethan Embry, Lauren Ambrose, Peter Facinelli, Seth Green and Charlie Korsmo.
She shared the title art and tagged the official Instagram profile for Can’t Hardly Wait: The Musical, writing in the caption, “And that’s all I’m able to say @canthardlywaitthemusical #comingsoon.”
Kaplan tells Deadline that she and Elfont are “mostly benevolent godparents watching from the sidelines” on the upcoming musical.
Can’t Hardly Wait: The Musical is produced by Michael Barra of Lively McCabe Entertainment.

Abbott Elementary will still air on Wednesday March 6, but no new episode will be broadcast, and that’s for a very specific reason. As previously unveiled by ABC, a new episode of Abbott would broadcast following the 96th Academy Awards. In other words, the biggest night for movies is set to be the lead-in for Abbott‘s forthcoming episode, “Willard R. Abbott.” The installment will see the titular school deemed a Philadelphia historical landmark, much to the excitement of principal Ava (Janelle James) and Janine (Quinta Brunson), but Barbara (Sheryl Lee Ralph) and Melissa (Lisa Ann Walter) aren’t as impressed with the accolade. As the school plans a celebration in honor of its namesake, not everything will go as planned. (Credit: Disney/Gilles Mingasson) Joining Brunson, James, Ralph, Walter, Tyler James Williams, Chris Perfetti, and William Stanford Davis for the episode are guest stars June Diane Raphael and Jennifer Elise Cox.

I love movies more than just about anything else in the world, but if anything is going to rank higher on my personal hierarchy of needs, it's the promise of free stuff. The economy is in shambles and my rent just went up, so needless to say, I am all about anything that doesn't come with a price tag. We here at /Film have been preaching the gospel of Pluto TV, the free ad-supported streaming television (Fast) provider with thousands of titles in their library and specialized channels of constantly running programming, for years.
If you long for the days of turning on the TV in the middle of the afternoon on a Sunday and watching whatever it is the cable programming gods decided for you, this is the closest thing to capturing that feeling. Want to watch a horror movie? There's a channel for that. Hoping to check out...

"Use more marshmallows!" Lionsgate has unveiled a new trailer for a mockumentary comedy titled Cook Off!, making fun of cooking competitions. This was actually filmed over a decade ago, and it first premiered at the Us Comedy Arts Festival Aspen back in 2007. Somehow it has been sitting on a shelf all these years, and yet is just now getting an official release thanks to Lionsgate. The huge ensemble cast includes Melissa McCarthy, Wendy McLendon-Covey, Ben Falcone, Niecy Nash, Jennifer Cox, Stephen Root, Diedrich Bader, Louie Anderson, Gary Anthony Williams, Jennifer Elise Cox, Cathryn Michon, Markie Post, and Sam Pancake. This definitely does have a Christopher Guest-esque vibe, with a cast of eccentric goofballs all makin' food under one roof. I'm just curious as to why it took so long to get a release. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Cathryn Michon & Guy Shalem's Cook Off!, direct from YouTube:...

Idiotsitter, Season 1

Premieres Thursday, January 14th at 10:30 pm Et on Comedy Central

Comedy Central has, over the years, become home to a number of talented comedians and offbeat shows, making their slate always one to look out for. One of their particular skills has been finding talented stars and writers of webseries and giving them a bigger platform, and it is from the latter that their new series Idiotsitter emerges. The brainchild of comedians Charlotte Newhouse and Jillian Bell, the series thrives on strong comedic performances, and shows a lot of potential depending on how well it can navigate the trickiness of its central conceit.
Idiotsitter‘s key strength in the pilot is in its performances. Charlotte Newhouse, who is the co-lead of the show alongside Jillian Bell, does some hilarious work with the role of a...

The Brady Bunch Movie turns 20!
Grab your potato sacks, because we're racing back to 1994 when Et was on set with the groovy cast.
"We have to take ourselves very lightly and laugh a lot at how silly we feel in wearing clothes that haven't been worn for 20 years," said Shelley Long, who plays matriarch Carol Brady in the movie.
"They're incorporating about five or six key, very memorable Brady episodes -- one of which Marcia gets hit in the nose with a football," Christine Taylor, who plays Marcia, told Et on set.
And it wouldn't be Brady a film without an epic dance number, but the cast wasn’t too fond of their colorful outfits.

"We've been counting down the days until the last day we have to wear them," said Jennifer Elise Cox, who plays Jan. "Today's our last day, yay!"

If you're not clued in, the month of January has truly been about Jan ... Jan Brady, that is, as seen in The Brady Bunch Movie and its sequel, A Very Brady Sequel. Played by actress Jennifer Elise Cox with a perfectly demented twist, Jan 2.0 is a psychotic play on middle-child syndrome. No surprise, 20 years later thanks to the teens and Netflix, she's been turned into a meme. (If this is the first you're hearing about this, read up!) Naturally, we had to chat with Cox (who stars in the "very Jan Brady" film Out West this year) about the meme she's helped inspire, playing the middle Brady child, and what it's like to have teenagers tweet "Sure, Jan" at you en masse. So I assume you’ve seen the meme you inspired. I noticed it by all these people connected to me on Twitter saying, "Sure, Jan." And I was...

“Like, are we all Jan?” Tumblr runetangclan asked, after images from 1996's A Very Brady Sequel of Jan Brady scoffing, Marcia Brady glaring, and the Brady parents “sipping tea” in the background recently appeared, en masse, across Tumblr. Since the movie debuted on Netflix earlier this month, Jan and Marcia have become the subject of a very specific, very charming meme. Why? How? Huh? I must know. It's a perfect setup. No doubt a bunch of high-school-age kids, raging against the machine, dealing with the ups and downs of puberty, would relate to Jan, the Bradys' resident underdog. Especially in The Brady Bunch Sequel (and the 1995 original!), where, thanks to some brilliant comedic acting by Jennifer Elise Cox, she's more of an exaggerated awkward than ever. And then there is her equally distorted popular-girl sister, Marcia Brady (Christine Taylor), as the perfect bully. Put them together, and you get this:Did you catch that?...

In the vein of great comedic mockumentaries like Waiting For Guffman and Best In Show, Jesus People is based on the hilarious and popular Independent Comedy Network web series that charts the rise and fall of America’s worst Christian pop band, Cross My Heart.
When Pastor Jerry (Joel McCrary from Best In Show) gets possibly awful medical news he is determined to reach his rebellious teen son (Chris Fennessy) while he still can. He finds four young musicians with varying levels of talent and their first single “Save The World” takes off on multiple (and some unexpected) radio formats just as the band starts to unravel.
In a search for some Christian music to expose to his teenage son, Pastor Jerry stumbles upon the music video for “Jesus is my good man.”
Check out the hilarious video for the song, which is featured in the film, with a great cameo from Octavia Spencer.

Space Station 76
Directed by Jack Plotnick
Written by Jennifer Elise Cox, Sam Pancake, Jack Plotnick, Kali Rocha, and Michael Stoyanov
Space Station 76 begins with a narration musing on the impermanence and isolation of asteroidal paths. It’s the overarching metaphor in a film that is hilariously set in a nostalgic, 1970s version of the future and populated with hurt, dysfunctional, and yearning characters.
Glen (Patrick Wilson) is the alcoholic, abrasive, and suicidal captain of the Omega 76; Jessica (Liv Tyler) is new aboard and although much more competent than her counterparts, she is struggling with her own maternal inabilities; Ted (Matt Bomer) is an earnest but naive mechanic who lives with Misty (Marisa Coughlan), his philandering wife, and their lonely, precocious daughter Sunshine (Kylie Rogers). Together, this motley cast of characters explores what it means to live in a future built on expectations from the past. What happens when...

After announcing earlier this month that Jon Favreau’s Chef and the Veronica Mars movie will be making their world debuts at SXSW this year, the festival has revealed its full line-up, including further very promising world premieres, alongside appearances from some of the year’s most high-profile films.
The Midnight programme will be announced early next month, along with the Shorts line-up, and the complete Conference slate a little later as well.
Led by Seth Rogen and Zac Efron, Nicholas Stoller’s anticipated R-rated comedy, Neighbors, will be making its world debut at the festival, notably marked out as a ‘work-in-progress’ ahead of its theatrical release in May.
David Gordon Green’s acclaimed Joe will make its Us premiere, having bowed at Venice and then Toronto last year. Early reviews have Nicolas Cage giving one of the finest performances of his career, with Tye Sheridan (Mud) excellent alongside him.

Not sure if there is a Short Term 12 equivalent in this year’s Narrative Feature Comp, but on paper SXSW programmers are serving up a mean (and the usual lean group of 8 out of a whopping 1,324 film entries) for the upcoming competitiuon of eight which includes notable entries (that we’ve been tracking for a good time now) such as Zachary Wigon’s The Heart Machine, John Magary’s The Mend, Leah Meyerhoff’s I Believe in Unicorns and Lawrence Michael Levine’s Wild Canaries. Undoubtedly one of the most anticipated docs of the year, on the non-fiction side we find Margaret Brown’s The Great Invisible. Below you’ll find a breakdown of the other sections (notable world preems in We’ll Never Have Paris and Faults (see Mary Elizabeth Winstead above), some Sundance items with Texan connections and other nuggets.

It was the year that saw the release of Toy Story - the groundbreaking movie that would cement Pixar's reputation as an animation studio, and set the tempo for CG family movies for the next 18 years and counting. It was the year that saw James Bond (played by Pierce Brosnan for the first time) emerge for GoldenEye after a six-year break. It was also the year of Michael Mann's Heat, Dogme 95, and the moment where Terry Gilliam scored a much-deserved hit with 12 Monkeys.
As ever, we're focusing on a few of the lesser-known films from this particular year, and we've had to think carefully about what's made the cut and what hasn't.

Film School Rejects has already dubbed it "probably the worst Kickstarter campaign ever made" and with good reason. The Kickstarter campaign for "Kate Allen Is Getting A Life" is riddled with problems, starting with the fact that the campaign's name -- "Film W/Thora Birch, Heather Matarazzo, Jennifer Elise Cox -- doesn't feature the film's title. We don't mean to pick on this particular campaign since many others make the same mistakes, but given the fact that the campaign was created by Linda Stuart, who presents herself as an industry expert, we think it's fair to use this project as a noteworthy example of what not to do on Kickstarter, or when crowdfunding in general. With a little over $40 in funding so far, it's highly unlikely that the project will reach its goal. Here are some lessons to take from Stuart's misguided Kickstarter campaign: 1. Don't give your project a generic or vague name.

This is probably the worst Kickstarter campaign ever made. Granted, it doesn’t have pay-me-to-stalk-Adam-Sandler comic appeal (or that project’s success!), but it does feature an individual with purported ties to the industry failing at every single level and offering a great teaching moment for people seeking crowdfunding (or a rubbernecking opportunity for everyone else). That’s the good news. There’s a lot of advice buried in the rubble. According to her website, Linda Stuart is a former lecturer at the American Film Institute, a former staff story analyst at Paramount and a script consultant for hire who will provide a full script overview (with handwritten and typed notes) for only $1,200 (a steal! (note: not a steal)). Now she wants $5M to make a comedy called Kate Allen is Getting a Life that might star several actresses who were popular in the late 1990s. She emailed us asking to publicize the campaign, and...

As you’ve probably heard by now, the fabulous Jane Lynch is on Broadway and drawing rave reviews as the villainous Miss Hannigan in the Annie revival now at The Palace Theater.
(Lynch is only performing through July 14th, so you only have a couple weeks to catch her! Tickets here.)
I thought this was a great time to look back at some Jane Lynch career highlights. And guess what? I’m leaving Sue Sylvester off this list. Great a creation as it is, I’m burned out on Sue Sylvester. You probably are too.
So rather than let Sue and her track suit define and delimit the amazing talents of Jane Lynch, let’s celebrate five other pop culture contributions from this amazing performer.
5. Christy Cummings, the lesbian dog handler from Best In Show (2000)
The first time I ever noticed Jane Lynch was in Christopher Guest‘s mockumentary about fanatical purebred dog owners.

The third season of Web Therapy, the Showtime TV series that stars Lisa Kudrow, will premiere on Monday, July 22nd, at 11pm reports EW.
The cable channel has ordered another 10 episodes of the low-rated comedy. There were 11 installments in season two.
Though Web Therapy draws a pretty small audience, that doesn't seem to diminish actors' interest in guest-starring opposite Kudrow as a self-consumed therapist.
Season three will feature appearances by Steve Carell, Billy Crystal, Chelsea Handler, Megan Mullally, Sara Gilbert, Meg Ryan, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Matt LeBlanc, Alan Cumming, Jennifer Elise Cox, Julie Claire, Tim Bagley and Project Runway judge Nina Garcia.
What do you think? Do you like Web Therapy? Do you watch the show when episodes first air or on-demand?

Believe the Skype: Lisa Kudrow’s Web Therapy will return to Showtime for a third season on July 22 at 11 p.m. In the 10 new episodes of the improvised comedy — which stars the former Friends actress as a self-consumed therapist who counsels patients via very brief video chats — Kudrow’s Fiona Wallice deals with the aftermath of husband Kip (Victor Garber) running off with his male campaign manager (Michael McDonald), and is investigated for campaign finance misconduct. Meanwhile, Fiona’s mother, Putsy (Lily Tomlin), steals her assistant, Jerome (Dan Bucatinsky), and launches a rival business called Net Therapy, and Fiona’s...

Tonight marks the conclusion of the second season of Web Therapy on Showtime. Will there be a third season or will it be cancelled instead? If it's dropped, will Fiona need some counselling for herself?
Web Therapy began as an online TV series. Showtime picked it, additional footage was shot, and those "webisodes" were aired on the cable channel last year. The TV show revolves around Fiona Wallice (Lisa Kudrow), a self-serving psychotherapist who treats patients in three minute sessions via her webcam. The series features guests each week and season two's have included Rosie O'Donnell, Meryl Streep, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jennifer Elise Cox, Molly Shannon, Minnie Driver, Selma Blair, David Schwimmer, Conan O'Brien, Tim Bagley, and Rashida Jones.
The ratings for season two started out quite small, with just 103,000 viewers tuning in on July 2nd. To put that in perspective, Episodes (which isn't a...

Democracy is a flawed concept. Here are 50 films that the IMDb voters would unfairly have you believe are worth no more than 5.9/10…
Six out of ten isn’t a very good score, really. It’s barely over half marks. 60 per cent. It’s alright, but it’s not great. You wouldn’t be proud of getting six out of ten on most kinds of tests, would you? So you might assume that any film that scores under six stars out of ten on the IMDb isn’t very good – possibly even terrible.
But that’s not always the case. Averages don’t tell the whole story; anything that’s potentially controversial or divisive will end up with a score that suggests most people weren’t that bothered about it, since high and low scores will be averaged – and IMDb users often exaggerate their scores anyway, giving a film one star...

London, Dec 19: A woman working at a nuclear arms factory has said that she was fired because she told her bosses of her pregnancy.
Jennifer Cox alleged that she lost her job as a result of morning sickness after deciding 'honesty was the best policy' and telling her bosses she was expecting a child.
Cox, 33, had worked for the Ministry of Defence police at the Atomic Weapons Establishment in Aldermaston, Berkshire, as its website manager in charge of updating information on the base's intranet.
She had been hired on a part-time basis and within five weeks of the start of her job, she told bosses she was pregnant.

Kudrow, BuCantinsky
It's hard not to be impressed by Lisa Kudrow. While Jennifer Aniston took the fame she earned from the sitcom Friends and tried to turn it into leading lady success (resulting in a string of generic, mostly horrible movies in the process), Kudrow went the exact opposite direction: churning out a string of quirky, labor-of-love projects, some of which are fantastic, especially her roles in the terrific indie movies Easy A and The Opposite of Sex, as well as the way-ahead-of-its-time reality TV satire, The Comeback, on HBO in 2005.
Many of these projects were done in association with her long-time collaborators writer-director Don Roos and actor Dan Bucatinsky, who happen to be partners. It's a very talented triad that our own Rantasmo calls the Bukudroos Synergistic Triangle, and it almost always results in artistic success.
In 2008, Kudrow, Roos, and Bucatinsky premiered a grand online experiment called Web Therapy.

Back in November when California's Proposition 8 passed, photographer Adam Bouska and his partner Jeff Parshley came up with the NOH8 (pronounced "no hate") campaign. Since then, Bouska has taken well over a thousand photographic portraits for the series, each featuring the signature look of duct tape covering the subject's mouth, white clothing and a white background, and the NOH8 logo painted on the subject's cheek.
For the first time, images from the NOH8 campaign are physically taking to the road for a gallery exhibition in Texas. The Dallas NOH8 Campaign exhibit was organized by and as part of Dallas Pride 2009, and Bouska's photographs will be on display at Dallas' ilume Gallery Space September 19-26, 2009.
A number of celebrities have participated in this ongoing campaign. What follows are some of our favorite images from the series to date. You can find more of Bouska's NOH8 portraits at noh8campaign.com

Fans are already counting down the days before Pushing Daises come back to airwaves, with the second premiere set to air on October 1 at 8pm. For those who need a refresher, here’s the lowdown. Created by Bryan Fuller, Pushing Daisies revolves around Ned (Lee Pace), a pie-maker who is gifted with an ability to bring dead things back to life by merely touching them. There’s a catch though—Ned realizes that if something is revived for more than a minute, something around the vicinity would take its place and die. Moreover, if he touches anything he had already revived the second time, it dies again permanently.
In the first season, one of the intriguing storylines revolve around Chuck (Anna Friel), Ned’s childhood sweetheart whom he revives and soon falls in love with. Despite being lovers, Ned can’t touch her, for he may lose her forever. What...
