Arthur Gorson is currently active in feature film, television and commercial production. His extensive experience in various aspects of the entertainment business provides him with a depth of knowledge to bring to his production activities. His photographic work with artists such as Bob Marley is widely known. Before moving to Los Angeles, he headed production companies, based in New York; working in the areas of film production, soundtrack and concert production.
Upon relocating to Los Angeles he first assumed the position of feature producer for Dreamstreet, Inc., with offices at Universal and Paramount Studios. He has developed projects with directors such as Tony Scott, Monte Hellman, and Taylor Hackford.
Gorson's feature film screen credits as Producer include: "Cronos", directed by Academy Award winner Guillermo Del Toro and shot by Guillermo Navarro; "No Place Like Home" by Perry Henzell (2019 release); "Better Watch Out", and "Road to Nowhere" directed by Monte Hellman; Consulting Producer of the historical epic "Cabeza De Vaca", directed by Nicolas Echevarria; Executive Producer on Timur Bekmambetov's record breaking Russian box office smash "Night Watch". Short film credits include: "Roots Of Reggae", produced with Wayne Jobson; "A Filmmaker's Odyssey", produced and directed by Gorson and David Garonzik. He created over 5 hours of original material for "The Harder They Come: Collector's Editon", a 3 disc set released by Shout!Factory ( 2020).
Mr. Gorson has several current episodic television projects in development including: "Seek to Know No More" to be directed by Alejandro Toledo and written by Michael Thomas ("The 33", "Devil's Double", "The Hunger","Ladyhawke", "Scandal", etc.), "High & Outside", based on stories by sports legend Ned Colletti which was to be written by the late Paul Eckstein (creator of "Narcos" and "Godfather of Harlem."); and "High Hope: The Series" with Jefferson Miller and writer Chris Salewicz.
The feature documentary "The Monty Alexander Movie", directed by Gorson and Academy Award winner Jefferson Miller for Obelisk Media, is currently in production (2024).
In short-form he has produced projects with directors such as: Zack Snyder, Dean Karr, Patricia Riggen, Timur Bekmambetov and Alejandro Toledo. As of 2024, videos produced by Arthur Gorson and directed by Dean Karr have received over 695 Million combined views on YouTube. With Karr, and other directors, he has produced music videos and concert films for artists such as: Damian Marley, Lisa Marie Presley, Evanescence, The Dave Matthews Band, Wu Tang Clan, Willie Nelson, Marilyn Manson, Stevie Nicks, Ozzy Osbourne, Tommy Lee, Dr.Dre, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Steve Aoki, Duran Duran, Everlast, Shooter Jennings, X Japan, Velvet Revolver, and Cypress Hill.
His work has received domestic and international recognition. Awards include: Cannes Film Festival - Grand Prix - Semaine de la Critique; Silver Telly Award; Ariel del Oro (Mexican Academy Award); MTV Awards; Much Music (Canada) Award; British Video Association Award; and multiple RIAA Gold and Platinum Awards.
