In advance of production on All You Can Eat, Josh competed in a Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest Qualifier at the New York, New York Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas, NV on May 18, 2006. Despite his lack of training and rookie status, Josh consumed 11 hot dogs and buns in twelve minutes. The event winner, Joey "Jaws" Chestnut, set a new American record with 50, all but assuring himself a cameo in the movie.
