After seeing "Star Wars" on opening day in 1977, George Hesse decided
to make the film business his career. He began shortly thereafter while
still in high school by shooting Super 8mm movies in his home town of
Washington DC.
After graduating from Denison University in Granville, OH with a BA in Cinema, George moved to Wilmington, NC to begin his professional film career. After doing a variety of different jobs, including plasterer, driver, production assistant, set dresser and grip, George ended up in the camera department where he has stayed ever since.
In 1994, George made the move up to first assistant cameraman. He has been working as a first assistant ever since.
In 1996, George moved to Los Angeles, CA to further his career opportunities. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
