She left Farscape (1999) in February 2001. Her reason for leaving was that she had shaved her hair and eyebrows for three years for her role as Zhaan, and wished to grow her hair back and regain her health due to the extensive prosthetic makeup upsetting her kidneys.

Was considered for the role of the main Bond girl in the James Bond film The Living Daylights (1987), but she lost it to Maryam d'Abo. However, she did secure a small role in the film.

Former girlfriend of the late Michael Hutchence.

Was discovered by a modeling agent while waiting at a bus stop in Sydney. She was waiting to catch the bus to go to her art school class.

Received her "Alien Of Extraordinary Ability" USA work visa in January 2003. She makes personal appearances all across the USA at sci-Fi and popular culture events. Teaches meditation and is about to launch aromatherapy, beauty & home products, and meditation CDs. (May 2004)

2013 saw Miss Hey return to England after a 30-year absence. Miss Hey is now making soaps and perfume for her business, White Flower Lei, and is living in southwest England. Virginia continues to audition and travels extensively doing her tour of appearance dates each month throughout the UK.

Has now relocated to the Fort Myers, Florida, area and teaches meditation and continues her business of aromatherapy, beauty & home products, and meditation CDs. (January 2008)

Appeared in the US in a well-known "Oil Of Olay" television commercial for 10 years in the 1980s, in which she played a schoolteacher who is mistaken by one of her former students as one of his own former classmates. She has appeared in 57 TV commercials in Australia and the UK.

Virginia is living in southwest England and continuing her tour of personal appearances, having just returned from a personal appearance at SupaNova in Australia. (January 2014)

Virginia is about to launch her high-end brand, Virginia Hey Couture, which will debut with vegan soy candles. (July 2010)
