He played Jacob in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, "Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat," in an Young Vic Production at the RoundHouse Theatre in London, England with Peter Reeves, Gary Bond (played Joseph), Joan Heal (played Jacob's wife/Potiphar's wife), Riggs O'Hara, Ian Trigger, Ian Charleson (played Gad), Jeremy James-Taylor (played Benjamin), Andrew Robertson, Gavin Reed, and Gordon (played Pharoah) in the cast. Frank Dunlop was director.
Best remembered as the abusive schoolmaster ("If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding!") in Pink Floyd: The Wall (1982). He also appeared in videos for Pink Floyd's followup album, The Final Cut.
