Oldrich Novy "corrected" his year of birth on his birth certificate by altering the last digit of "1894" to "1899". This was known not only to his co workers. There were witnesses (his schoolmates from the elementary school) who confirmed this "innocent" correction.

[on reviewers' first reaction to Pytlákova schovanka aneb Slechetný milionár (1949)]: "It turned out disastrously at first. About 40% wrote that the movie should be played because people had a nice cry while watching it, but that some people were giggling and interrupting the show, which should have been banned in the cinema.
