On Saturday night, rapper G-Eazy took the stage with the New Orleans band, The Soul Rebels, for an energetic set in front of a sold-out crowd at New York City’s iconic venue, The Blue Note Jazz Club.

The rapper, who knew the band growing up in his native New Orleans, told the crowd, “Ya’ll are hearing one of the greatest bands of all time tonight!”

The band, an eight-piece ensemble that blends funk, soul and jazz with traditional New Orleans brass, attracted an A-List set of guest hosts over their four-night residency at the club including Ja Rule, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane and comedian Tony Woods.

Pack your water bottles, because a second Fyre Festival seems to be in the works. On Aug. 20, Billy McFarland, the organizer behind the original failed event, revealed that tickets for a second installment of the festival were on sale for $499 apiece in an Instagram video. He also said the event was scheduled for December 2024.

Just two days later, McFarland claimed that the festival had sold out entirely. However, event's website claims more tickets are "coming soon," though they'll cost between $799 and $7,999 each.

Not many details or specifics about the second Fyre Festival are available, and the website merely says that the festival will take place somewhere in "The Caribbean." Meanwhile, in 2022, the Bahamas Tourism Industry said it would "not endorse or approve any event" on the islands "associated with" McFarland, per NBC.

Speculation about a second Fyre Festival began to swirl when McFarland shared a series of cryptic tweets on April 9 teasing a follow-up.

Years after the disastrous 2017 Fyre Festival, Billy McFarland has announced that Fyre Festival II is in the works.

McFarland said in a video posted on social media Sunday that after speaking with “people as far away as the Middle East and South America” to host the festival, he ultimately decided that the festival would be “coming back to the Caribbean” with a target date at the end of 2024. Specific locations, dates and festival lineup have yet to be revealed.

“This is a big day,” he added in the clip. “It has been the absolute wildest journey to get here, and it really all started during a seventh-month stint in solitary confinement. The Fourth of July holiday on Tuesday features several traditional music and fireworks special presentations on TV and streaming online in primetime. Here is a rundown:

A Capitol Fourth

The 43rd annual celebration will be broadcast live from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol and is hosted this year by Alfonso Ribeiro. A total of 20 cameras positioned throughout the city will capture the fireworks around the National Mall.

Scheduled performers include Boyz II Men, Chicago, Belinda Carlisle, Babyface, Maddie & Tae, Charles Esten, Renée Fleming and Adrienne Warren, with performances from America’s Got Talent finalists Northwell Nurse Choir, the National Symphony Orchestra, and the U.S. Army Band with “Pershing’s Own” during the fireworks display, accompanied by live cannon fire provided by the United States Army Presidential Salute Battery.

The Grammy-winning rap superstar, 48, and the R&b icon, 42, both made surprise appearances at each others’ shows at the Hot in Herre festival and Jazz Festival over the weekend in Toronto.

The first of the nostalgic link-ups took stage at the Hot In Herre festival on Saturday at Downsview Park. Along with headliner Nelly, the lineup featured hip-hop and R&b icons including Ja Rule, Keri Hilson, Rick Ross and more.

During the “Golden Mile” display, thousands of golden-hued shells will create a dramatic cascade effect stretching across the East River to honor the singer, who died in May at 83 years old.
