This Texas born actor is the only son of parents, H.G. "Guy" Herod and

Arlington, Texas. Rick showed an interest for entertaining and acting
from childhood, singing in talent shows, dancing, and acting in plays.
Rick joined the Army after high school and was trained in Army
Aviation. He was sent to Europe for his first duty station. After a year
in Germany, he volunteered for flying duty in Vietnam. He served with
the 101st Airborne Div. A Co. 101st Assault Helicopter Bn. in 1969. He
sustained a leg injury late in his tour, and was sent home. When
released from the service, he married and had two children. He attended
some college, worked different jobs, eventually settling back into
aviation work. Rick was divorced in 1988. He married his high school
sweetheart in 1992, and remains spoken for to date. Rick's love for
entertaining had always remained, and in 1991, with the advice from a
friend, and his wife, he made acting his goal as a career. Rick is

commercials, including working alongside Academy Award Winner Billy Bob
Thornton in the film "Friday Night Lights", and two time Oscar nominee
