Dorien Davies is an actress, writer and puppeteer. She was born in Santa Barbara, California, and learned to walk in her parents beloved store, The Earthling Bookshop. She did community theater and local radio commercials as a child and got her BA from Mount Holyoke College where she majored in Theater. Dorien found a her people in improv and sketch comedy meeting her husband, actor/writer Kenny Stevenson at the Groundings Theater.
in 2005 Dorien trained as a puppeteer for the Jim Henson Company's live improvised stage show, "Puppet Up!" It was there that she found her calling. She has continued to work in puppetry, performing and voicing dozens of characters for film and TV. She is one of a a few puppeteers in the world who can operate the Henson Digital Puppetry System. She is skilled in numerous styles of puppetry, RC control and MoCap.
In recent years, Dorien has been writing for and creating children's television content. She is a Co-EP and Co-Creator of the Jim Henson Company's hilarious new project "Wowsabout."
