The former Nxt Women’s Champion Belair shined against all three members of Fatal Influence before tagging in Cargill, who launched a willing Jordan onto a downed Henley. Fatal Influence managed to take control for a time, but it wasn’t long before the dream team of Belair, Cargill and Jordan won the match via Jordan’s incredible Split-Legged Moonsault.

The episode was also the number one telecast on CW this year among adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 with 406,000 viewers and 354,000 respectively.

The viewership represented a 143% increase in total viewers over CW’s Tuesday primetime average this season, with affiliates in markets like New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Detroit also notching triple digit increases in viewership versus last week.

The inaugural Nxt on The CW saw Trick Williams regain the Nxt championship, as well as special appearances by Cm Punk, Jade Cargill, and Bianca Belair. Next week, WWE superstar Randy Orton will make a special guest appearance.

But before Brolin landed the part, a certain WWE superstar auditioned for the role.

Randy Orton, aka The Viper, was recently a guest on the WWE talk show "What Do You Wanna Talk About?" During the conversation, the longtime staple of the ring revealed that he auditioned for the role of Cable, which would have been by far his biggest foray into Hollywood to date. As Orton explained in the interview, his journey with the character was a short one:

WWE‘s Nxt is leaving the USA Network on Oct. 1, heading from cable to broadcast television on the CW — and now we know where the broadcast will take place. The Tuesday, Oct. 1, live show will be held at Chicago’s Allstate Arena with main event star and Chicago native Cm Punk, WWE announced Tuesday.

The following week on Oct. 8, Nxt will tap another local star when they head to St. Louis, featuring special main roster guest Randy Orton.

The show’s ratings haven’t historically been as large as those of its two top shows, “Raw” and “SmackDown,” but Nxt’s average viewership has risen 20% year-to-date among 18-49, while its overall ratings across age groups are up 4% versus last year, according to Nielsen data provided by WWE.
