Lewis Michael John Grech
- Actor
Lewis Michael John Grech was born in Southampton, Hampshire, England on Wednesday the 14th of March 1984.
Son to a British mother Jean Mary Grace Moth nee Une and Maltese father Paul Joseph Grech. He also has a half-brother, Martin Moth. Unfortunately his parents divorced when he was still young and his father took custody of him along with moving to Malta around the age of 6.
Lewis was always curious from a young age always asking about everything and this lead him to reading quite a bit in fact at the age of 5 he was already visiting the library all by himself. It was there where he discovered Dr. Seuss and his many rhymes and his fascination of such art grew within him.
At school he would always participate in school activities and was always eager to partake in school plays or presentations. He noticed he had another talent when remembering his lines and acting. After finishing school early (age 16) he went straight to work rather than pursue his talents or further his education because life with his father was poorly lived. Always moving houses and schools either because of his dad's job changes or his school troubles which many a time led to him being a victim of bullying.
Financially he always had problems but that didn't stop him for believing that one day things could change. One fine day he bumped into an old drama teacher he had and was invited to partake in some free private drama workshops where he improved his acting skills and regained his excitement for playing roles. Lewis always enjoyed portraying other characters and it was a bit of an escape from his otherwise troubled life.
Eventually he signed up for a movie production in 2010 which landed him the role of a Dothraki Warrior in the now famous Game of Thrones series. He was just a background actor but to him it meant the world. He would go on to do more background acting for years to come partaking in productions such as The Dovekeepers (2015), The Promise (2016), Assassin's Creed (2016), Das Boot (2018) and many others.
He eventually landed a small featured part in a scene in Seacole (post-production) which proved to all those present that he was more than a background actor. He knew without a doubt that he was ready for more so he signed up with a studio that had an upcoming local movie that was said to be released worldwide. He applied as an actor and ended up getting the call for an audition for which he got the part.
The movie was Blood on the Crown (2021) and it would be his first internationally released movie where he was part of the cast.
