Marjorie Maye is a multi-platinum songwriter whose songs have been performed by artists ranging from Celine Dion to Destiny's Child to Ke$ha to name just a few.

Her music has been a part of launching careers for "X Factor", "Popstar", and "Idol" talent around the globe. Winners in Brazil, Sweden, Denmark, Amsterdam, France and Germany have all recorded her songs.

Published by SONY ATV, she is part of Grammy winning producer RedOne's team of writers at 2101 songs.

Born in New Rochelle, New York, she splits her time between the east coast and LA.

Background:

Marjorie penned her first song while attending the University of Colorado, Boulder, and hasn't stopped yet.

Since she was a journalism major, her passion for word play made perfect sense, combined with a musical upbringing it was an ideal combination.

It all started when one day a friend who was a great musician absconded with a scrap of poetry that he thought would make a good lyric, he took it back to his home studio and came back with a song a week later... after that she was hooked."

Soon, Marjorie started writing not only lyrics but melody, and in no time, broadened her circle of collaborators.

By 1996, her songs started appearing on prime time and daytime TV.

Since then, Marjorie's music has aired on HBO, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, WB, UPN, Lifetime, Discovery, TNT, E!, MTV and VHI; on Emmy winning shows such as The Sopranos, and on prime time series such as Friends, Seventh Heaven, Two of a Kind, Clueless, The Strip, Seven Days, ER, and Pacific Palisades; on daytime television, such as All My Children, As the World Turns, Young & The Restless, One Life to Live, Another World, Guiding Light, and Sunset Beach; on tween shows, Victorious, DeGrassi, Gigantic; and in movies, such as Motherhood (Uma Thurman) Waking Up In Reno, (Charlize Theron, Billy Bob Thorton), Shrink is In, (Courtney Cox, David Arquette), Pollyworld, Pokemon the First Movie, and Stuart Little.

Her first multi-platinum release finally came in November 1999, when her heart wrenching ballad "If Only Tears Could Bring You Back," appeared in the Warner Bros. film, "Pokemon, The First Movie." and on the multi-platinum soundtrack on Atlantic Records, featuring artists such as 'NSync, 98°, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera.

Soon after, Columbia Pictures' "Stuart Little" hit the theaters and remained #1 at the box office for several weeks. Her song, "The Two of Us," recorded by "SClub 7" (co-written and produced by Soul Solution) was featured on the "Stuart Little" soundtrack on Motown/Universal Records.

In the year following, an assortment of artists began covering her songs throughout the world, but it wasn't until 2001, when she got her first back to back hit singles, that things really started heating up.

Later that same year, Marjorie signed a sub-publishing deal with EMI International out of New York.

Not long after, Celine Dion, her favorite artist of all-time, made her way into the studio, with Grammy winning producer Ric Wake, to record "When the Wrong One Loves you Right," for her comeback album, "A New Day Has Come."

The album entered number one in more than 17 countries, including the United States, Australia, Austria, Canada, Finland, France, Italy, Norway, and the United Kingdom, making it by far the biggest debut album of 2002.

In addition to the song appearing on Celine's multi-platinum album, "A New Day Has Come, it is also included on the new DVD video, and was featured on Celine's CBS Television Special, performed with Destiny's Child.
