Tony T. Roberts is coined by his peers as the "comedian's comedian."
His hard hitting, energetic, style of comedy has catapulted him into
the top ranks of the comedy circuit.
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan on Seven Mile, Tony is the oldest son of Annette Roberts, and the only son of his father Alvin Askew. He graduated from Henry Ford High School and then went into the Army were he spent 10 years of service. A befitting journey since some have also referred to Tony as the "Sergeant of Comedy."
After leaving the service, and going from job to job, Perry, a good friend of Tony's, dared him to get on stage and try is hand at stand-up comedy. Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle in Royal Oak, Michigan is where Tony first graced the stage, but Tony recalls that night being everything but graceful.
A favorite of club owners for his improvisational skills and quick wit, Tony has tour the nation with his stand-up comedy in all the major night clubs across the county. Tony has also toured nationally with the stage plays, If these Hips Could Talk and Ain't Nothing like Family. He has also toured internationally with his stand-up comedy, one of his more notable accomplishments was a 2009 nomination from the UK for Best International Comic.
Tony has also made numerous television appearances on HBO's Def Comedy Jam, BET Comic View, and Showtime at the Apollo. In 2010, his one hour comedy special, Wired, aired on Showtime. He has also appeared in B movies like Damon Dash's Death of a Dynasty, A Get2gether, and Durdy Game.
Tony has three children and resides in Los Angeles, California with his wife.
