"I can't send you back... Look, these equations - they're still unsolved!" Gravitas Ventures has released an official trailer for a time travel indie romance titled Another Time, from filmmaker Thomas Hennessy. The film seems to be a riff on About Time and The Time Traveler's Wife, but looks nowhere near as good as those two films. The story follows a man who travels back in time for a chance at love, who meets a woman who might be the one, even though she's not the original one he wants. Of course. Justin Hartley (from "This Is Us") stars as Eric, along with Arielle Kebbel, James Kyson, Chrishell Stause, Mark Valley, Jake McLaughlin, Alan Pietruszewski, and Tucker Smallwood. I can't even begin to describe how terrible this looks, everything about it seems so awful and repellent. Thankfully the trailer is free to watch. Here's the official trailer (+ posters) for Thomas Hennessy's Another Time,...

"I think you're making a mistake, I think you could be happy..." Freestyle Digital Media has debuted an official trailer for a dark romantic comedy titled Breaking & Exiting, the feature directorial debut of actor Peter Facinelli (who does not have a role in the film). The pitch for this is rather odd - it's about a thief who breaks in to a woman's home and discovers her about to kill herself. So, as the logline says, he "decides to save her from herself, sending both of them into a darkly comedic journey of self-discovery and love." But of course. The cast is lead by Milo Gibson and Jordan Hinson, who also wrote the screenplay; along with Adam Huber, Joaquim de Almeida, Justine Wachsberger, James Kyson, Lily Anne Harrison, and Cecile Cubilo. This doesn't look so bad, but doesn't look so good either. If you're curious, take a look. Here's...

The Av Club reports that Masi Oka will reprise his fan-favourite role of Hiro Nakamura for this year's Heroes: Reborn. The time-travelling, teleporting geek Hiro played a key role throughout all four seasons of Heroes' original run from 2006 to 2010, so it's only fitting that he should return for the show's upcoming 13-episode limited-run series revival.
The dynamic between Hiro and his (mostly non-superpowered) best friend Ando Masahashi (James Kyson Lee) was hilarious, lending the show a much-needed humorous side to balance out the gripping arc-based storytelling drama. Not only that, but their friendship also provided some added emotional resonance. So hopefully James Kyson Lee will also return to complete the double act.
Hiro's relationships with some of the other characters also made for some brilliant storylines. For instance, there's his awkward, doomed romance with the adorable waitress Charlene 'Charlie' Andrews (Jayma Mays), continued in the amazing spin-off novel...

The Monogamy Experiment stars actress/director Amy Rider (The Secret Life of the American Teenager) and is a unique mockumentary/documentary hybrid that intertwines a scripted comedy with real interviews. The scripted action begins when Rider’s character and that character’s boyfriend Nigel (Brayden Pierce) visit a relationship counselor and - yadda yadda yadda - the couple then begins a 30-day open relationship (which, these days, is all the rage). “I thought it'd be interesting (and funny) to make a mockumentary where you take a committed monogamous couple and throw them in a situation where they have to test out 30 days of an open relationship,” Rider said over e-mail. “But while I wanted to do a mockumentary, I felt like there's a big social relevancy in the subject matter that I didn't want to get lost in the whole comedy and mockumentary aspect.” And in order to not get...

Have I mentioned how much I hate all these breaks between new episodes? Not only does it hurt the show's ratings because people don't know when a new episode is airing, it's also very hard to remember continuity. But the PTBs at Hawaii Five-0 (TV) land came bearing gifts of awesome last night, and truly, this is going to be hard to get through without dissolving into idiotic squeals. Yeah, it was That good. The name of the game from here to the finale is "Family," people. Remember that. It's important and is being fed to us in subtle quantities in these episodes. We're brought in with sweepingly beautiful vistas of the Hawaiian countryside, which I plan on seeing in person before I die. Steve (Alex O'Loughlin) and Danny (Scott Caan) are on a hiking date. Apparently Steve wanted to bring Danny out to the cliffs to see the petroglyphs...

With all the stars finally in town, the parties were finally in full swing! Who needs sleep when the festivities go until 4 a.m.?
It was the final day of Sundance’s opening weekend and the celebs were out in full force. Today it seemed like the festivities got started a little later in the morning or afternoon, because the stars were recovering from the night(s) before (myself included!). After a couple cups of much needed Joe, I hit the streets to see the houses and suites to which I hadn’t been yet.
12:00 p.m. My first stop was to the Variety Studio’s suite, where stars like the adorable Zooey Deschanel stopped by for interviews, gifts from Woolrich John Rich & Bros. and to take fun pics in the Altoids Curiously Strong Photo Kiosk. The suite was a welcome warm escape from the wind outside! It was so cold!

The suite was a welcome warm escape from the wind outside! It was so cold!

James Kyson Lee has admitted that he still misses the cast of Heroes. The actor, who played Ando Masahashi in the NBC drama, also revealed that he is still disappointed that the show was cancelled since he believed the programme had "settled down". "After four seasons, we developed a great chemistry as a group and as a family so I miss them," Pa quotes him as saying. "I think everybody felt like we're onto something here and if we do it right and just keep it up and just make sure we keep high quality to the show, then we can really create a strong legacy and do something special." He added: (more)...

Chicago – Here’s one of the saddest casualties of the recent writer’s strike. Tim Kring’s sci-fi series, “Heroes,” came on like gangbusters when it debuted in 2006. It intriguingly fused the formulas of “X-Men” and “Unbreakable,” as it followed a colorful assortment of earthlings who discover that they have powers unsettlingly akin to those seen comic books.
Viewer interest was initially high as the series continued to build its suspense, baiting the audience all the way to an anticlimactic season finale. Yet after the writer’s strike stalled production on the next season, slashing its episode count down to eleven, the series stumbled and never regained its footing. It became just another tedious television drama consisting entirely of phony ploys designed to keep the viewer watching. Like many popular franchises, from “Lost” to “Twilight,” “Heroes” consists entirely of procrastination, though at least in this case, most viewers were wise enough not to stick around.

To quote David Bowie, .Though nothing will drive them away.. Well, except plummeting ratings. Heroes had a good first season, but from there on out it was a law of diminishing returns. There may have been some good bits here and there but NBC finally was exposed to the ratings kryptonite that put the series in the grave. Heroes, if you don.t know, concerns a group of everyday people who find that they have superpowers. After the events of Season Three, Claire (Hayden Pantettiere) goes off to college and Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) returns to his job as a paramedic. Hiro (Masi Oka) and Ando (James Kyson Lee) have started a .dial-a-hero. business, but Hiro has noticed a...

Lakers fans make up a sizable chunk of Twitter-Wood, but there are some Celtics supporters mixed in there as well. Dane Cook, Rose McGowan and James Kyson Lee all weighed in on the NBA Finals confrontation at the Staples center yesterday, and you may or may not agree with their assessments.
"Eclipse" star Kristen Stewart's opinions can sometime be equally divisive, and at least one actress spoke up about how she feels on that subject today. I'll let you find out who that was below, along with what John August thinks of "I Love You Phillip Morris" and who wants a piece of "Human Centipede"-themed jewelry.
It's all on the record in Twitter-Wood for June 4, 2010.

Why Am I Doing This? is a comedy about a struggling actor and comedian trying to make it in Hollywood. It stars Anthony Montgomery (I'm Through With Girls), Lynn Chen (Saving Face) and Tom Huang who wrote and directed it. It's the type of quirky multicultural story that independent cinema needs. I'm hoping that Huang forms a Judd Apatow-like band of actors and crafts more starring roles for Montgomery and Chen (plus Sheetal Sheth, James Kyson Lee and Fernanda Andrade).
You can catch Why Am I Doing This? on the big screen for a limited engagement at the Laemmle Music Hall theater in Los Angeles until May 20th.

Heroes follows a group of ordinary humans who have developed extraordinary powers. The series' large ensemble cast includes Adrian Pasdar, Ali Larter, Cristine Rose, Greg Grunberg, Hayden Panettiere, Jack Coleman, James Kyson Lee, Masi Oka, Milo Ventimiglia, Robert Knepper, Sendhil Ramamurthy, and Zachary Quinto.
NBC's recent cancellation of Heroes came as little surprise. The TV show's ratings have been in decline for quite awhile and more than a few people have complained about the crazy storylines. The network considered renewing the TV show for a shortened fifth season but ultimately decided against it.
Quinto, who became a household name because of Heroes, wrote about the cancellation on his blog. In a post titled, "chapter's end...", he wrote about his gratitude for the series, his collaborators, and the viewers.

After becoming an almost immediate hit for NBC in Fall of 2006, Heroes dropped significantly in the ratings over the past couple seasons. Fans have complained about the storylines but the TV show has been one of the network's biggest draws in the 18-49 demographic. NBC has opted to cancel it anyway.

The meeting of the sci-fi franchises in this morning's Daily TwitPic is mind-boggling. There's something here for everyone. Provided you like "Heroes," "Dr. Who" and/or "Star Wars," that is. "Willy Wonka" too, as one perceptive commenter points out.
In the image after the jump you'll see "Heroes" star James Kyson Lee (Hiro's supercharged buddy Ando) chilling at (we presume) WonderCon with a villainous Dalek from the "Dr. Who" universe (think of them as space Nazis) and an orange-complected, short-statured Wookiee, which one commenter refers to as an interspecies pairing between Chewbacca's people and an Oompa Loompa, the unnatural result of a Dalek breeding program.
Remember to check out Brian Warmoth's Twitter-Wood column every day for an early jump on your Daily TwitPic.

Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy announced they were splitting yesterday on their Twitter accounts, and while it's never as fun to read the break-up tweets as it is to watch Frankie Muniz hold a funeral for his dead cactus, you have to hand it to the two of them for keeping things classy (in 140 characters or less).
In other more entertaining tweets, Richard Kelly posted that he's pretty sure he witnessed a Transformer guest appearance in "Clash of the Titans." I haven't seen it myself yet, but you can find out if you agree with him after the jump. His thoughts are retweeted along with Jackie Chan's birthday cake, memories of a homeless "iCarly" fan and the hotel David Spade was staying in when he got invited to join "SNL." I present to you Twitter-Wood for April 7th, 2010.

"I think I'm alone now"...or is she? Tiffany stars with James Kyson-Lee ("Heroes") in Brink DVD's "Necrosis" horror. Jason Robert Stephens-directed and written film sees release on April 25th on DVD and is produced by Julian Contreras, Frank Torpey and Al Weigand. Six friends arrive at a secluded cabin to enjoy a long weekend in the snow. Little do they know that their vacation spot is located on the site of the infamous Donner Party Massacre – a tragic event in 1846 when a group of snow bound settlers devolved into madness and turned on each other in a cannibalistic frenzy. When an unexpected snowstorm hits, the cursed ghosts of slain Donner Party are resurrected, determined to exact their revenge. Are these true demonic entities or is ‘cabin fever’...

Ask most people (of a certain age) about Tiffany, and they’ll immediately envision the 17-year-old singer whose album sales broke records in the mid-’80s. That enduring image is probably why Tiffany the Scream Queen is such an intriguing proposition. Pursuing acting in between recording and touring has led Tiffany to her first lead performances in Necrosis (on DVD April 20 from Brink), featured opposite Heroes’ James Kyson-Lee and horror icon Michael Berryman, and Mega Piranha, debuting this Saturday, April 10 on Syfy ahead of disc release by The Asylum on the 27th.

New information has arrived for Jason Robert Stephen's Necrosis courtesy of the distributor Brink DVD. The film, which releases April 20th, will be offered in an unrated version. To horror enthusiasts, that means fewer cuts and less editing of the final product which creates a more complete version of the film. This also means that Stephen's and writer Robert Michael Ryan's original vision will be seen in this version. Already reviewed here (Necrosis Review), the film stars James Kyson Lee (Heroes), Tiffany (1980’s Pop Star), George Stults (7th Heaven), Penny Drake (Zombie Strippers), Danielle De Luca (Naked Fear), and horror legend Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes). Have a first look or revisit the trailer for Necrosis inside, until the film drops April 20th.

A paperwork snafu has delayed the plans of a group trying to cover up the famed "Hollywood" sign and exchange it with a temporary environmental message."We're crossing our T's and dotting our I's with city engineers," said a spokesman for the project. The unveiling of the new message was supposed to happen Thursday, though the group -- called the Trust for Public Land -- is now shooting for Friday. Engineers had to be convinced that covering the sign with a tarp wouldn't present any dangers should a big wind hit, causing Tpl to run through some bureaucratic hoops just before work was to begin Tuesday.Tpl said it has permission to blot out the Hollywood sign only until Monday. It will be replaced with the phrase: "Save the Peak."It's all part of a celebrity-infused effort to raise money so that the nonprofit Tpl can purchase Cahuenga Peak, which...
