Since 2007 he has been General Director of Content at SP Televisão and in 2022 he was chosen for the same role at SPI. He is a screenwriter and his work has been presented at the main international festivals. He teaches at the Escola Superior de Comunicação Social and the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and has lectured all over the world. He has been a jury member for several international festivals. Winner of the International Emmy Awards for Best Telenovela in 2011 for Laços de Sangue. In 2016, he won the Gold Medal at the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards for Coração D'Ouro. In 2019, he was personally nominated for Best Screenwriter at the Seoul Drama Awards. In the same year, he co-authored the Portuguese/Spanish series Auga Seca, shown on HBO. He is the creator and showrunner of Glória, the first Portuguese original series for Netflix in 2020. Glória was the winner of the Sophia 2022 awards, in the category of best series/film, and won a Portuguese Golden Globe in the category of best fiction project. Internationally, Glória was pre-nominated for the Platino Iberoamericano Awards 2022, in the categories of Best Series Creator and Best Series. He is also the creator and showrunner of the Globoplay series Codex 632 (2023), which won the Bronze Medal at the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards, and the author of the Prime Video documentary Sr. President (2024).
