As President and CEO of Alkemy X, Justin Wineburgh has transformed the forty-three year old company from a local Philadelphia post-production studio into a solutions-driven media and entertainment powerhouse with expanding expertise into the industry's hottest sectors. From work on Emmy-winning series on top streaming platforms to original branded content connecting viewers with consumers, influencers, and tastemakers, in his eight years at the helm of Alkemy X, Wineburgh has established the global company as a player to watch.
Since joining Alkemy X in 2016, Wineburgh has rejuvenated the company, restructuring the leadership team and strategic vision to become an award-winning creative partner at the intersection of entertainment, advertising, and technology. He has rapidly built a diverse team of in-house talent while overseeing the restructure and growth of the company's Visual Effects division to include work on top hit series and films, from The Walking Dead franchise on AMC, Amazon Prime's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, STARZ' Power franchise, HBO's The Gilded Age and Westworld, and Wednesday on Netflix, to Academy Award winning film The Whale, establishing Alkemy X as a leader in unscripted development with original series such as TLC's award-winning hit, "Dragnificent!," and "Restaurant: Impossible" on The Food Network, and growing the company's slate of branded production for the likes of Amazon, T-Mobile, Electronic Arts, Hulu, Wayfair, BudLight, Samsung, and more.
Wineburgh began his career as an attorney with one of the largest law firms in the world, being named partner at the firm at 31 years old. Over his 16 years at the firm, he built and headed the firm's global media and entertainment practice from the ground up, representing a broad range of clients in all facets of the industry. In his practice, he served as Alkemy X's outside General Counsel since 2005, before being asked to take over the role of President and CEO.
Among his business accolades, Wineburgh is a published author of The Essential Guide to Entertainment Law: Dealmaking, was named a 40 Under 40 Winner by the Business Journal, and was recently nominated as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist. In 2021, he was named "Most Admired CEO" by the Philadelphia Business Journal and in 2022 was included in the "Titan 100" recognizing top CEOs across the United States. He is an active member of the Young Presidents' Organization, serving on the YPO Digital Marketing and Media Network as the US Northeast Region Network Champion.
Deeply committed to the community, Wineburgh serves as an Executive Board member of numerous charitable, civic, and arts organizations. In addition, a sought-after speaker, he regularly appears at conferences throughout the world, and has taught entertainment law as an adjunct professor in both the undergraduate and law schools at Drexel University and Temple University, as well as for many continuing legal education programs.
