Sara Salgado was born on November 10, 1989 in Lisbon, Portugal. At the age of 11, she scored her first gig in the feature 'Olhar da Serpente' (2002). Having dreamed about a career as a classical dancer, Sara attended the Dance School of the National Conservatory where she graduated in 2005.
After spending some time as a professional dancer, Sara quickly discovered that she would rather pursue a career in acting. She had been featured in several theatrical performances, but made her powerful screen debut in the TV series 'Morangos com Acucar' (2006-2007). Since her debut, Sara has won roles on television including 'Ecuador' based on Miguel Sousa Tavares best-selling novel, 'Olhos nos Olhos' (2008-2009), and 'Mar de Paixao' (2010-2011).
In 2010 Sara made her cinema debut as the lead in 'Uma Aventura na Casa Assombrada' by Carlos Coelho da Silva, which was based on the best-selling novel 'Uma Aventura'. In 2012 She starred in the critically acclaimed thriller, 'Teia de Gelo', followed by guest staring roles on the television series 'Maternidade' (2012), 'Familia Mata' (2012) and 'Dancing Days' (2012).
In (2013) she played a lead role in the hit series 'Depois do Adeus' and joined the cast of the hit series 'Bem-Vindos a Beirais' (2013-2015).
Sara studied acting at Escola de Teatro da Casa das Artes Laranjeiras, one of Brazil's most acclaimed programs, in Rio De Janeiro. She also has a degree in Marketing and Advertising from Escola Superior de Comunicação Social.
She is in fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
