Stephen Uppal graduated with a BA in English Literature before studying Acting & Musical Theatre at The ArtsEd school of Acting in London.
He's a fitness & Martial Arts enthusiast and regularly trains in Jiu-Jitsu, Mixed Martial Arts. He loves music and holds a grade 4 in piano which he started to learn in 2020.
He is one of 9 children, very close to his family and is often quoted saying "Family Is Everything." He loves spending time with his family and pursuing anything creative.
Professionally, after graduating ArtsEd he went on to play various roles in the London's West End (Tonights the night, Joseph & His Amazing Technicolour dream Coat) before joining the cast of The Royal National Theatre's production of The History Boys.
His first TV series lead role was Ravi Roy on Hollyoaks for channel 4 which he starred in for 3 seasons and has been in movies The Mummy with Tom Cruise & Russel Crowe, Looted and more recently Damned, which marked Stephen's first lead in an action movie. Stephen also writes and has a drama series 'Yes Please' (Asian Shameless) in development with SharpHouse TV. The series is set in the late 80's and is loosely based on his life growing up in Middlesbrough and is tipped to be a groundbreaking smash of a show with an Indian family at the center of all the action.
Stephen resides in London but heads up north to the mighty Middlesbrough to see his family as often as he can.
