Evan Silver is an Emmy-nominated, Cannes Lion winning comedy director and writer. He was recently selected to participate in the esteemed Directors Guild Of America's 2020 Episodic Television Directing Program and was previously accepted into Shoot Magazine's New Director Showcase. He has received many awards for his film and TV work which continually crosses into mainstream pop-culture.
He recently co-executive produced, wrote and directed an original, ten-episode comedy series for TBS Networks about real life internet trolls. His short films ("Nam Son! Son," "White Squad," and "Human Auto-Correct") and music video "Humility" for the band Gorillaz (starring Jack Black) each developed a cult following online after going viral and receiving international press and honors.
Evan received an EMMY nomination for a series of 30 videos he wrote and directed for MTV called "Tu Pride." When Conan O'Brien was hosting the MTV Movie Awards, MTV asked Evan to direct the in-show comedy sketch "Conan's Geek Squad" starring Conan, Jamie Fox, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield. MTV also brought Evan in to direct a series of comedy sketches and promotions when Aziz Ansari hosted, and then again when Rebel Wilson took the reigns three years later.
Evan has also written and directed comedy shorts, sketches and promos for Comedy Central, MTV, TBS, FunnyorDie, The Daily Show, HBO, IFC, College Humor, Vice, Paramount Films, Sony Pictures, Disney Studios and Fox Studios. He has also worked with some of today's biggest talents in comedy and entertainment including Aziz Ansari, Emma Stone, Cameron Diaz, Jason Segel, Sarah Silverman, Billy Bob Thornton, Andrew Garfield, Conan O'Brien, Michael Cera, Kristen Bell, Jeremy Renner, Jamie Foxx, Chelsea Handler, Jack Black, Diddy, and Snoop Dogg.
His newest film/series, Not Moms, is an official 2021 selection to the Catalyst Content Festival, 2021 New York City International Film Festival, and 2021 Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival.
