Born to a Scottish-born father and Colombian mother in Norfolk,
Virginia in 1959, he was given the name James Dean Simington, as was
the current idol of his father in that year. He is number 3 of eight
brothers and sisters and they were considered "Navy brats" because of
his father being stationed at several Naval bases throughout the U.S.
and Panama. He graduated at Las Vegas High School in 1977 and attended
Community college and then later, UNLV until his transfer to USC in
1981. His career in acting began in the production of Bye Bye Birdie in
Las Vegas and made several appearances on Hill Street Blues as an
extra, La Bamba and several commercials for Jack in the Box and
Sizzler. Always a creative writer; he wrote several prominent American
Fiction works as a ghost writer and began his own advertising agency in
Las Vegas and California providing nationwide advertising and
commercials for major clients. He has written many notable screenplays
under ghost-writing contracts and now has began to receive recognition
for pursuing his own original stories and screenplays with Director's
and Production companies. A consummate original writer, producer and
actor, Jim has always produced genuine and honest projects for the
entertainment industry. He lives in Orange County with his wife and
daughter.
