Lived and worked in St. Croix, Virgin Islands for 29 years.

In 1998, in a group including friend Marilyn Jones, trekked the Mountain Gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Eastern Uganda.

Spent the Millenium 2000 New Years in Jerusalem, Israel.

With a pilot, took a Microflight over Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe in September, 1994, which will always described be "one of the most terrifying experiences of my life". One month later, he received word that the same Microflight had crashed. Both the pilot and his mechanic both perished.

Climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, East Africa, reaching the top on October 30, 1990.

Graduated from New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, New Mexico, whose alumni include Conrad Hilton, Conrad Hilton Jr.,Sam Donaldson,Roger Staubach, and Owen Wilson.

One of the crew on a 7 day, 120 kilometer white-water rafting expedition down the Zambezi River from Victoria Falls to Lake Kariba along the Zambia/Zimbabwe border in 1994.
