Shannon is a Vietnam War living historian, with many years of research in the uniforms, weapons, and equipment used by U.S combat troops from 1960-1974. He served a year and half with the US Army, including 6 months overseas. He is well versed in the FM 22-5, and has great understanding of US military doctrines.
