Ana-Lucia Limbrick

Born Ana-Lucia Maria Thereze Foscosi-Limbrick in Auckland, New Zealand,
one of six girls to Robert Limbrick, Airline Pilot and Thereze (Terri)
Foscosi (accountant).
Educated at Westlake Girls School, Takapuna, and Auckland University of Technology where she studied Chemistry while working at her cousin's radio station (Fifeshire FM) doing weather reports and other interest stories on the breakfast and morning shows before joining TVNZ 1 & 3 to present weather reports.
A accomplished sports woman, Ana has represented New Zealand in both Rowing and Athletics (100m, 200m and 4 x 100m) at Junior, under 23 and senior level. She is also a keen sailor and used to compete in cross country horse riding (point to point) until a serious injury from a fall competing forced her to quit.
Ana moved to Sydney join ABC(Australian Broadcasting Company) in 1991 on completing her degree before finally moving to the United Kingdom in 1993 via Japan and Atlanta, Georgia where she had a short spell with CNN and Delta Airlines.
Ana went on to study postgraduate courses in Maths and Chemistry at Trinity College, Oxford University where she represented Oxford in the women's University Boat Race and gained a PhD (D.Phil). She also has a Masters degree in Materials Technology.
Ana was sponsored by the British Army throughout her PhD and attained the rank of Major before leaving due to back problems however she remains a reservist currently holding the rank of Lt. Colonel and regularly provides training and advice in the field of EOD.
Ana was married in Stellenbosch, South Africa, 2003 and has one daughter, born 2004, although separated and subsequently divorced in 2010.
In 1997 Ana set up her own company that produces prototypes / solution design for businesses and designs and Special and Visual effects (SFX/VFX) for film, television, music videos and stage events. Her passion remains for developing pyrotechnic effects.
