Vajèn van den Bosch
- Actress
- Soundtrack
Anyone who has heard Vajèn sing in the many musicals she has played in knows that she has a unique, instantly recognizable voice. Clear, subtle and full of control, but powerful when the text and underlying feeling demand it. She sings other people's words as if she wrote them herself, experienced the emotions, felt the pain. An advantage of her work as an actress. In preparation for her role, she dives into the skins of the characters she plays like a chameleon. She immerses herself in their characters, until she knows what moves them. By acting she understands better how people work and what life has to offer. And, little thinker she is, it makes her think for herself. What does she think, what would she do in such a situation? She puts the thoughts and reflections that this produces on paper. They form the basis of her songs.
Through her songs, Vajèn connects with people. She rarely saw how well music can do that when she sang at the memorial for the victims of the Stint accident in Oss. She saw that she could provide comfort and support by singing to people. Vajèn always sang from her heart. Now that the words she sings are her own, they take on an extra charge. "When you sing for people, there is an immediate connection. You give something of your feeling and you get it back immediately" she says about the magic of singing.
