Jodie Castellani is an internationally-awarded, published photographer, writer, and filmmaker based near Greenville, South Carolina. Her work as a producer, director, and videographer includes a cameo film of Dan Truhitte (who played Rolf in the 1965 Academy Award-winning film, The Sound of Music) in a tribute to Kym Karath (who portrayed "Gretl"). The event was hosted by the Filmmakers Gallery in honor of Kym's charity, The Aurelia Foundation, in a special screening at the Palm Springs Cultural Center. Other video productions have included a music video, That Ol' Econoline, of singer Thomas Truhitte. Her documentary film project, Collateral Damage, is presently being developed as part of her work at the Center for Documentary Studies program at Duke University. Jodie's photography and photo-essays have been featured in many publications such as National Geographic, CNN, Creative Loafing, Social Documentary Network, Sportfreund (Germany), Huffington Post, and the Taste of the South. She is also an entertainment archivist, having worked on the archives of Dan Truhitte's ("Rolf" from The Sound of Music) to preserve collectibles from his 70 years in the entertainment industry. She additionally created and maintained his professional website and social media accounts from 2015-2018.
As an actor, Jodie has been featured in several industrial and educational films for corporate use and television. She is also known as a background actor for projects such as A Christmas Song, Outcast (Season 1 and Season 2), Shots Fired, The Righteous Gemstones, Mr. Mercedes (Season 3), Sid Roth's It's Supernatural, The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Hungry Investors, and Brad Paisley: By Invitation Only.
Jodie holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and works as an online graduate school Assistant Professor, Subject Matter Expert, and Instructional Mentor, in addition to her photography and film projects. Her hobbies include travel, genealogical research, and animals. She resides with her husband and pets in South Carolina.
