The multi-faceted CEO of NVE Records, Gary "Devon" Dotson, lives, breathes and sleeps music. The Chicago native started his musical journey playing drums at the age of 3 at his grandfather's church and continues, to this day, to explore every aspect of music.

Dotson challenged himself to be the best in every aspect of his music, and through practice and performing with church, school, and even playing with the Sacramento Symphony, he formed his own musical identity. He is a versatile musician and producer that finds inspiration in the greats, songwriters and musicians that include Sting, George Clinton, Quincy Jones, Prince, Michael Jackson and more.

His talent stood out from a young age and he was selected to tour and play for music greats like Latin percussionist Pete Escovedo and his daughter, Sheila E, who is credited as a percussionist for Prince. Jazz Saxophonist Najee & late great NBA player and bass player, Wayman Tisdale, Gospel artist Kirk Franklin and Daryl Coley - just to name a few.

Dotson is well known in the Sacramento area, as well as overseas, and has shared the stage with a number of major recording artists including Tony, Toni, Tone' , The Roots, Super producer Timbaland, Missy Elliot, Ginuwine, the late great Aaliyah and many others.

In addition to being a talented drummer, he also plays violin, upright and electric bass, congas and other percussion, piano, organ and keyboards. He is also an accomplished DJ. The latest endeavor requires a merging of all of his musical skills as Music Producer and Songwriter for his Record Label Nite Vision Entertainment (NVE Records)

With his edgy sound and out the box musical thinking he embeds his sound in the minds and hearts of music lovers, comparing his music to some of the greats to ever do it.

He is a producers producer, comfortable in composing music in a plethora of different genres including pop, hip hop, dance, dubstep, EDM, soul, retro, country, reggae, blues, jazz, gospel, rock and alternative.

To compliment his music production, Dotson is a talented songwriter and topliner, catching the attention of TG Publishing owner, John Aagaard whom Devon would later sign a publishing deal with in 2014, leading him to work along some of the best writers internationally.

Having already produced music domestically and internationally for major networks like MTV, VH1, Fuse TV, Bravo, NBC, Lifetime, TLC, OWN, Wetv, and CW just to name a few, the super-producer's success continued to grow as he would later sign a distribution deal mid summer of 2015 with music's largest entity, Universal Music Group.

The new deal gave his company, NVE, the best of both worlds, full creative control and major distribution.

In 2016 Dotson has already won multiple awards for his songwriting, production, and featured performances. He was also considered for a Grammy Nominee in multiple categories for his written and produced pop song "Selfie".

Dotson currently is extending his talents to some of today's biggest names in music and to emerging breakout artists worldwide.
