Ximena Lamadrid is a Mexican actress and writer. Originally from Cancún, Mexico, Ximena grew up in Dubai, UAE. Ximena has a BA in English and American Literature and a BFA in Theatre from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied in Atlantic Acting School and went on to advance her career in film at the Stonestreet Screen Acting Studios. Since then, Ximena has experimented with writing, producing, directing and performing both her own work and that of others.
Ximena landed a lead role in Alejandro González Iñárritu's feature film Bardo (False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths), which premiered at Venice film festival in 2022, along with other prestigious festivals such as Telluride and BFI London. Ximena has worked with other reputable directors such as Sofia Coppola (in On the Rocks) and Humberto Hinojosa (in No Abras La Puerta). Ximena stars as the lead in Netflix's ¿Quién Mató a Sara? (Who Killed Sara), which was Netflix's Most Popular Foreign-Language Show in April 2021 with an estimated 55M viewers tuning in for the Season 2 finale.
Ximena is an author of a book of poetry 'and then the clouds were lifted', which she published the same year that she co-wrote, directed, and produced DANCE DANCE DANCE, a short film in which she also stars in. Her love for independent film is potent through her lead roles in several short films, which have been in various festivals and platforms such Mud & Honey's arrival to Focus Features and Jet Blue.
