At 19, Shayne was caught in the crossfire of a brawl while trying to break up a fight and was shot multiple times in the back with a .38 revolver, resulting in paralysis. He spent months in the hospital and was told he might never walk again. This near-death experience was a wake-up call, prompting him to get sober, leave negative influences behind, and focus entirely on physical therapy and changing his lifestyle. Remarkably, within a year, Shayne made a full recovery. He signed with modeling agencies in NYC, London, Milan, Sydney, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Paris, and despite the grim prognosis, he walked the runways for Lacoste, Libertine, Hood by Air, and Balmain. This journey led Shayne to discover his true passion for the film industry. He began training at Stella Adler, Uta Hagen, and Meisner technique in NYC, and later in Los Angeles with Lesly Kahn, Groundlings, UCB, and Margie Haber. Today, Shayne works as a counselor at several drug rehabs, sharing his story to inspire others in similar situations.
