Jake Donald-Crookes
- Actor
- Additional Crew
Jake Donald-Crookes is an actor and musician (playing the drums to a grade 7 standard) and modelling since 2005 for numerous advertising campaigns.
In Jakes first role (released 2022) he took the lead as protagonist (teenage role) Mario Capecchi, in Hill of Vision, produced by Elda Ferri, directed by Roberto Faenza, costumes by Milena Canonero.
Co-staring along side Elisa Lasowski, Laura Haddock and Ed Holcoft, we see the remarkable true story unfold about an Italian-born molecular geneticist and a co-winner of the 2007 Nobel Prize in Medicine, Mario Capecchi. Mario lived on the streets during WWII from the age of 4 1/2 after his mother was arrested by fascists and then later imprisoned in a German concentration camp. After Mario's mother is released, she miraculously finds him (in 1947) and they travel to America to live with her brother and start a new life. This is where Jake takes the lead and tells Mario Capecchi's story from here.
In 2021 Jake was cast in other projects, yet to be released, on Amazon. And most recently 2022, Jake filmed The Wasp (II) with Natalie Dormer and also staring lead, Naomi Harris.
Jake's first introduction to the silver screen was in Kenneth Branagh's Disney film Artemis Fowl, where he performed the role of Artemis Fowl acting double. This is where Jakes interest and love for the craft came to light and he hasn't looked back since.
