Frieren is boring, even I found it boring at first , and not just the first episodes , some parts around the middle too , but not because I got bored of the story or the characters ( loved every single bit of both) , but because I started focusing on the end of the story or the final destination rather than the journey. Mostly because that's how most animes are, you get the bulk of the story at the beginning then a conclusion at the end something like that , but frieren is mostly about the journey, is all I'll say if you're getting bored by certain bits, and please, don't overthink it. I didn't really get why people kept saying things like characters being emotionless and plots being pointless, I think that's how tge characters were meant to portrayed and the beyond journey's end theme is very refreshing ti saybthe least, I watch wayy too many slice of life animes so I'm used the pacing, but people do fine it a bit slow (it's not that bad imo). I'd love to give it a 10/10 , but one of the reasons this has a lot of bad reviews or unhappy viewers is because of edits or reviews that make it look like what it's not , so a 9's good.
The themes , animation and music were all spot on , so I don't even need to get into that , it's a wonderful anime overall , just don't read needlessly into it , that never ends well.
