If you're a fan of Rocío you may overlook or not even notice the films shortcomings. Others will think it too talky and slow moving. Few will deny the overwhelming talent put into the musical numbers and the good performances given by the entire cast. The plot of this romantic musical comedy has Rocío playing Luisa, a nightclub singer & cigarette girl. Roberto is a wealthy playboy who thinks of her as his best "pal", but has a "serious" romance with another more "worthy"(upper class)woman. Luisa wants of course to be the only woman in his life and thus goes to extremes by disguising herself as her brother, Luisito, and taking a position as Roberto's male secretary so she can spy on him and break off his serious romance. At one point, Luisa as Luisito, even dances with the other woman! Another important character in the film is Fanny(wonderfully played by Gracita Morales)who plays Luisa's co-worker, friend, and comedy sidekick, so to speak. She has some solo song numbers as well as a duet with Rocío which comes off very well. Near the end of the movie, 2 songs in a row are done by Rocío with the 2nd including a big dance number in classic Flamenco garb with Luisa dressed as a toreador. Here she displays her abundant vocal abilities to best effect. Of trivial interest is an outdoor scene showcasing some camels and an indoor scene in which Luisa puts the spotlight on the fine art of origami. The movie reviewed was in the VHS format and had excellent color and picture/sound quality.
Agreeable and charming musical comedy starred by the always sympathetic Rocio Durcal , being accompanied by a great plethora of familiar secondaries . Of course , Rocio steals the show as the splendid singer and dancer teen girl . Roberto (Luigi Giuliani) and Luisa (Rocío Durcal) are a couple but are not as sincere as they should be. Luisa seeks for love , and she finds it on the person of lower-class young Roberto , but he's really cheating her , because he's about to marry Delia (Maria Luisa Merlo) , daughter of a wealthy owner , Nemesio Ordoñez (Tomas Blanco) who at the same time wants to do business with Roberto, the latter has some land in Lanzarote Island, Canary Islands . Luisa tells that she works at Telefónica when really she sells cigarettes at "The Green Windmill" cabaret where also performs comical musical numbers her friend Fany (Gracita Morales) .
This is an entertaining and funny comedy proceeded in great simplicity and delicacy with plenty of vitality , humor and vivid imagination. An engaging comedy with gorgeous musical numbers , colorful cinematography, and providing a lot of chances of dancing and singing , standing out the spectacular theatrical sequences . A fun coming-of-age story in which Rocio Durcal falling in love for an allegedly wealthy young but she's surprised when discovers plans for a bachelor party organized for Roberto, who is going to marry a wealthy heiress , as the main question of the movie results to be to prepare her revenge , as Luisa adopts the role by posing as Luisito and faces Roberto in disguise as her false brother . Well performed by Rocio Durcal , the popular teen of the Sixties and Sixties discovered by producer Luis Sanz when participated as a TV singer contest called Primer Aplauso or First Applause. This prodigy adolescent started his films debut : 1962 Cancion de Juventud by Luis Lucía and Rocio dela Mancha, following Deanna Durbin's Hollywood style . Later on , she played in 1965 Mas Bonita que Ninguna , Acompañame, Buenos Días Condesita and Cristina Guzman, all of them shot by Luis Cesar Amadori. As an adult actress she performed the musical Las Leandras by Eugenio Martin and La Novicia Rebelde by Luis Lucía, a peculiar version of La Hermana de San Sulpicio . Moreover , Rocio attempted to change her traditional style with a dramatic role : Marianela 1972 by Angelino Fons , following Diselo con flores 1974 and an erotic film with Barbara Rey titled Me Siento Extraña . These films failed at boxoffice then she became a famous singer of popular Mexican songs and Rancheras, getting big hits all over the World . The likeable Rocio Durcal being stunningly supported by a good cast , such as : Gracita Morales with whom Rocio forming an intimately hilarious couple , Tomás Blanco , José María Caffarel , Luis Morris , Pedro Porcel , Jesús Puente , Jesús Guzmán , Tota Alba , María Isbert and special mention for Paquito Cano ¨Locomotoro¨.
The scenarios and studios in which develop the deeds are well designed by the prolific designer Eduardo De La Torre Fuente , filled with attractive musical set pieces excellently choreographed and musical score responds appropriately to the ambient . Luminous and glimmer cinematography originating a careful atmosphere by cameraman Alejandro Ulloa , though mostly shot in Ballesteros Studios . Funny , interesting and enjoyable script from Jesús María de Arozamena and director Luis Cesar Amadori himself . The motion picture was professionally directed by Luis Cesar Amadori with emotion and enthusiasm enough . The Argentinean , nationalized Spanish writer/filmmaker Amadori so consistently mixed the good with the mediocre that it became quite impossible to know what to expect from him next . Here the craftsman Luis Cesar Amadori blends loving intrigues along with popular songs . Amadori was an Argentina-born former journalist and music critic who became a leading stage producer and dramatist , and , subsequently, writer-director of motion pictures in Argentina . Luis was manager in 150 theatrical spectacles . He debuts in ¨Puerto Nuevo¨(1936) co-directed by Mario Soffici . Amadori often used the pseudonym ¨Gabriel Peña¨ when he wrote his scripts . After the overthrow of Peron worked in Spain for a decade , for 1958 to 1968 he made 17 films , such as : 1965 ¨Más Bonita Que Ninguna¨ , 1964 ¨El Señor De La Salle¨ with Mel Ferrer , 1964 ¨Como Dos Gotas Agua¨ , 1963 ¨La Casta Susana¨ , 1961 ¨Pecado De Amor¨ , 1961 ¨Alerta en el Cielo¨ , 1960 ¨Mi Ultimo tango¨ , 1960 ¨Un Trono para Cristy¨ , 1959 ¨Una Gran Señora¨ , 1958 ¨Una Muchachita De Valladolid¨ . Most of them were vehicles of popular actresses as ¨Rocio Durcal¨ , ¨Marujita Diaz¨ , ¨Pili and Mili¨ and Sara Montiel with whom made this his biggest hit : ¨La Violetera¨ .
