In one scene, Damiel visits a rock club and smiles after overhearing the thoughts of a Japanese woman in the crowd. On the Criterion DVD, the voiceover of the woman's thoughts are not subtitled. They are, however, subtitled on the earlier VHS editions as follows:
"I'm glad I came here. I don't hear everything. The people aren't watching. Maybe Heaven is watching."
