When meeting a stranger he doesn't like, Walker doesn't take off his hat, or shake the guy's hand. For example, when he's having a conversation with a millionaire racist in Walker Texas Ranger 3: Deadly Reunion (1994), and when he's speaking with a racist Army Captain in season five, episode two, "Patriot".

The majority of the series was filmed around Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas. Many locals were cast as extras, and some even had speaking roles.

Chuck Norris (Cordell Walker) is the only actor to appear in all 196 episodes of the series.

After the eighth season, CBS wanted to extend the show's contract for two more years. However, with Chuck Norris' wife being pregnant at the time, the show was removed from the line-up.
