Kresten has moved from his parents' farm on a small Danish island to Copenhagen to pursue his career. When his father dies he must move back to the farm, where nothing much has happened since he left. He places an ad in the local newspaper to get help with running the farm and looking after his mentally-challenged brother. A prostitute named Liva answers the ad, keen to get away from annoying telephone calls. But running away from your past isn't easy.—Allan Simonsen
