"Passions" is the last soap opera to premiere on daytime television.
The names of the witch and the daughter, Tabitha and Endora, are the names of witches from Bewitched (1964). Also, it was mentioned on the show that the Passions witch Tabitha Lenox had parents named Darrin and Samantha.
Justin Hartley and Lindsay Korman met on the show and married in real life. They also have one child together, Isabella Justice Hartley known as Bella. They are now divorced but Lindsay still goes by the name Lindsay Hartley.
Two actors from the series Bewitched (1964) were on Passions with Juliet Mills' witch character, Tabitha. Bernard Fox reprised his Bewitched role of Dr. Bombay, while Alice Ghostley, who played Esmerelda on Bewitched, played a new character, Matilda Matthews.
"Passions" began its life as a run-of-the-mill soap opera, full of sex, intrigue, and scandal. In a bid to distinguish the show from the other soaps on the air at the time (and to boost ratings), the producers decided to add a witch to the cast.
