Storyline
Did you know
- TriviaThere were no scripts used in the "documentary" portions of this movie, whatever Steve Irwin and Terri Irwin said was off the top of their heads. All stunts were performed, just like on The Crocodile Hunter (1996), by Steve himself.
- GoofsWhen the CIA Agent is being dragged by Steve Irwin and Terri Irwin's truck during one shot you can see the edge of the hidden board upon which the stunt man is actually riding on.
- Quotes
Steve Irwin: G'day! I'm Steve Irwin! You might know me as the Crocodile Hunter! Have a look at this little beauty, will ya?
[appears at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios logo]
Steve Irwin: This is an African lion! Oh, I'm in no danger, he's become a Hollywood lion! He's been sitting in this MGM logo for 77 years! Tough job, mate. Of course, in my new movie, The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course, we make this bloke look like a real pussycat! Yeah, the lion may be the apex predator in Africa, but in Australia, crocs rule! Everything about Collision Course is big, REAL BIG! But there's one big problem...
[to the Lion]
Steve Irwin: It's you, mate! He's too tame! Come on, get out of there ya little devil!
[a crocodile now appears in the MGM logo]
Steve Irwin: Crikey! Now that's more like it! Steady, mate, steady...
- Crazy creditsThere is a statement in the closing credits: "Aside from Steve Irwin and Terri Irwin, any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, or to actual entities, is purely coincidental."
- Alternate versionsThe UK version is cut by 5 seconds to remove two uses of the word 'wanker', in order to secure a a PG certificate. (The trailer was cut by 1 second, removing a shot of a crocodile leaping at the camera with its jaws apart, and thus securing a U certificate. An uncut PG certificate was available to the distributor.)

It could have been awful. But the film-makers have struck upon this unique formula where the feeble back-plot (straight out of a cheap 80's TV movie purposefully serves to enhance Steve's personality and appeal, and the two mingle into a delightfully campy experience.
I call this a surprisingly refreshing, possibly touching on genre-defining, classic that I will be watching many more times.
