The idea of a Mech-Bigfoot is very exciting. So exciting in fact that artist Vincent Cretara and company have made a quick stop motion trailer in honor of Rolfe Kanefsky's new film Megafoot! Now let's just hope the real thing can get made!
We're very selective about which crowd-funded projects we cover around here, but this one looks too damned cool to not try and help with. If the striking image below is enough to whet your appetite, then head on over to the Megafoot IndieGoGo page and check out all the cool things you can get by shelling out some cash!
The concept – based on an original idea and story by Justin Martell (producer of Troma's Return to Nuke 'Em High: Volumes 1 & 2) and with a screenplay by Rolfe Kanefsky (award-winning screenwriter/director of There’s Nothing Out There, The Hazing, and Nightmare Man), who is also attached to...

We return with another edition of the Indie Spotlight, highlighting recent independent horror news sent our way. Today’s feature includes details on a Wes Craven art exhibition, the first sighting of Megafoot, a 100 zombie films graphical print, first photos from Australian Horror film, Barrow, an interview with actor, writer, and filmmaker Sean Stone, and much more:
The Horror Legacy of Wes Craven Exhibit Details: “Wes Craven has been feeding our collective horror consciousness since 1972, when his first feature, “The Last House on the Left,” debuted. That film was gritty, raw and terrifying, it still causes a guttural reaction some 40 years later. In his career, Wes has created some of the most memorable moments in horror cinema, from the torture scene in “The Serpent and the Rainbow,” to the Johnny Depp’s explosive scene in “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” to the first glimpse of Michael Berryman’s savagery in “The Hills Have Eyes.

Time for some news regarding Do Not Disturb, which features Corey Haim in his last screen performance. Read on for details and a look at the artwork. Stephen Geoffreys, Ezra Buzzington, and Tiffany Shepis also star.
From the Press Release
Ruthless Pictures has acquired international sales rights to Do Not Disturb, a dark thriller which features actor Corey Haim in one of his final performances.
After the murder of his fiancée, Katherine, floundering screenwriter Don Malek is hell-bent on revenge. Plagued with personal demons, Don checks into a seedy motel room to enact a bloody rampage. When he checks in, no one checks out.
"I wrote Do Not Disturb while working on the clock in a film vault in Hollywood, and to have been able to bring it to life with the amazing talents that we did is truly rewarding," says writer/director BC Furtney.
Commenting on the acquisition, Ruthless Pictures’ CEO Jesse Baget said,...

If you live in Los Angeles and haven't made weekend plans yet, we just got word of a cool upcoming event you should absolutely check out.
On Saturday, May 26, director Rolfe Kanefsky's first flick, There's Nothing Out There, is being screened at the New Beverly Cinema. I know what you're thinking: "What's so special about a screening in L.A.? " But, trust me, this is a pretty big deal.
Kanefsky is a journeyman filmmaker perhaps best known for 2004's The Hazing, a nifty Halloween haunted house flick starring Tiffany Shepis and Brad Dourif. While that is a great movie, Kanefsky's debut is actually something of a groundbreaker.
Filmed in 1989 by a 20-year-old Kanefsky, There's Nothing Out There served as his calling card to the film industry. As a long-time fan of scary movies, Kanefsky concocted a standard horror film — he put a bunch of teenagers alone in a secluded...

Important Note: There may be some films that do not become available on the specified dates. This is merely a report of the most accurate release dates I can find, but is not directly confirmed by Netflix themselves.

Before there was such horror spoofs as Scary Movie starring Anna Faris. Before there was such self referential horror films such as Scream from director Wes Craven. After there was Student Bodies. There was Rolfe Kanefsky's independent horror spoof of "There's Nothing Out There". There's Nothing Out There arrives to DVD today in a 20th Anniversary Edition courtesy of Troma Team Video. There's Nothing Out There went virtually ignored when it first came out, but over the years this trend setting film has went on to find an audience with multiple DVD and video releases over the years. There's Nothing Out There is a criminally underrated film that is still attracting a slow, but surely following. What was especially noteworthy about There's Nothing Out There was the fact that it featured a character who had seen every horror film there was out there and realizes that the actions that...
