A TV adaptation of EA’s best-selling sci-fi video game franchise “Mass Effect” is in the works at Amazon MGM Studios.

The project will be written and executive produced by Daniel Casey. Other executive producers include Karim Zreik under his Cedar Tree Productions banner’s overall deal, Ari Arad and EA’s Michael Gamble.

News of the TV series was first revealed back in 2021, but there had been no updates since then. There have also been various failed attempts to adapt the game into a feature film. Specific plot details for the upcoming series have not been disclosed.

The video game franchise depicts a distant future where humanity and several alien civilizations have colonized the galaxy using technology left behind by advanced precursor civilizations.

The first three games in the triology follow Commander Shepard, who attemps to save the Milky Way Galaxy from a race of ancient, hibernating machines known as the Reapers.

Kohei Horikoshi has always been inspired by Western comics, and their influence on My Hero Academia is clearly visible. On multiple occasions, the author has confessed his love for Marvel and he first entered the world of comics after watching the 2002 Spider-Man movie.

A “Mass Effect” TV series is officially in development at Amazon MGM Studios, Variety has learned exclusively.

Daniel Casey is set to write and executive produce the adaptation. Karim Zreik will executive produce under his Cedar Tree Productions banner, with Ari Arad and EA’s Michael Gamble also executive producing. Cedar Tree is currently under an overall deal at Amazon MGM Studios.

Exact plot details are being kept under wraps.

It was previously reported in 2021 that Amazon was in negotiations to develop a “Mass Effect” TV series, but there have been no updates on the project until now. There had also been various attempts to develop a feature film based on the games but the project never materialized.

The confirmation of Earth-10005 as an alternate reality within the MCU links all of Fox’s previous X-Men films. This opened the door for characters like Wolverine, Deadpool, and others to appear in future MCU storylines potentially. Moreover, the designation of Earth-10005 explains its uniqueness from Earth-616, the central MCU reality, hinting at the future possibilities within the MCU.

In the present, we learn that Iron Man managed to capture a David-8 and now keeps him in a state of suspended animation having removed his head.

It's also revealed that Stark Tower is a rocket ship meant to evacuate the 1,400 or so humans who are still alive. They'll travel into space and colonise a new world, but not before stopping by Mars to meet with the X-Men.

‘Aliens vs. Avengers’ is a new comic series that brings together the Marvel superheroes and the deadly Xenomorphs from the ‘Alien’ movies. This crossover happened after Disney bought 20th Century Fox, giving Marvel the right to use characters from Fox’s big franchises like ‘Alien’ and ‘Predator‘.

The video also features Chris Evans (Captain America), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Paul Bettany (Vision), Danai Gurira (Okoye), and Don Cheadle (War Machine).

The only members of the original six Avengers missing from the video are Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner and Australian actor Chris Hemsworth (Thor).

In the video, Johansson starts by saying, "Thanks for jumping on the call," prompting Cheadle to respond, "I think you mean assembling!" The MCU veterans then attempt to come up with a catchphrase for Vice President Harris' campaign, with Gurira suggesting "Kamala Forever" before they decide on, "I'm Kamala Harris, and I’m down with democracy."

Regardless of your political beliefs, it's fun to see these actors together again, though we likely don't have much longer to wait before they reassemble.

As Election Day nears, Scarlett Johansson had her fellow Avengers join forces for a get-out-the-vote video.

In a video shared by Vanity Fair, Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle, Danai Gurira and Paul Bettany came together on a Zoom call to brainstorm a new catchphrase for Kamala Harris as she takes on Donald Trump. Some of their suggestions referenced moments from their respective movies, including Iron Man and Black Panther.

“It just immediately turned into people trying to one-up each other with one-liners,” Johansson told the magazine about the video. “Robert and Mark, bickering like two old ladies. And, of course, I’m the person that’s just trying to organize everybody. It’s very similar to what our dynamic is in the films. It was wonderful to feel everybody assemble around it, and hopefully it will engage our fans in the process of voting.”

Initially planned to hit Disney Plus in 2023, Dominique Thorne’s Ironheart has sustained several delays since, especially after an underwhelming 2023 slate. While some are excited by the first glimpse at the show, some remain doubtful about whether Riri Williams would be able to fill the shoes of Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark.

A new Marvel trailer is offering some major teases for the new year, including a new look at Ironheart and heaps of fresh release dates.

In the new footage for Ironheart (which releases Tuesday, June 24 on Disney+), we see Dominique Thorne’s genius inventor Riri Williams as she aims to “build something undeniable.” The clip offers another look at her high-tech outfit (5/5, if you ask us), as she flips a massive truck and zooms past traffic à la Iron Man. But will she have to do some “questionable things” in order to achieve greatness?
