It may be that The Goonies 'R' Good Enough for Cyndi Lauper, but could we please have some Hobbits with that as well?
Seems a guy named Lance Ford wanted to take that unexpected Journey as well, and has mashed up the trailer for "The Hobbit" with some choice cuts from 1985's best kids booby trapped pirate treasure romp.
Of course there's an extra layer of humor given that Sean Astin, he who portrayed Samwise the Brave in Peter Jackson's original "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, also starred in "Goonies" back when he didn't need CGI trickery to appear tiny.
Casting pock-faced Robert Davi as Gandalf is a little jarring, but it works, and you just know who appears in place of Gollum… "Sloth… Loves… Precious!!!"
Incidentally, did you know that Mark Hamill and Sean Astin appeared in a separate movies both called "Slipstream" shortly after their stints in "Star Wars" and "Lotr,...

Vinnie Jones Accused of Assault
Hollywood hardman Vinnie Jones is being investigated by South African police after allegedly attacking a guest at a party he threw. Marc Devenish claims the former soccer star punched and slapped him at the bash Vinnie held in Cape Town for the crew of his new movie Slipstream - and has vowed to press charges against the Swordfish star. He says, "I am laying charges because he cannot be allowed to get away with this. It was extremely frightening. " But the actor's agent insists Jones - who flew back to Britain after the bash - was only ejecting an uninvited guest. Peter Burrell says, "This man was drunk after gatecrashing the party and objected when Vinnie and a friend ejected him." Nevertheless, local police are pursuing Devenish's claims. Police inspector Willen Visser says, "We are investigating the matter thoroughly, and if it is decided it must go to court then Mr. Jones will have to return to South Africa."...

Milicevic has time for indie 'Slipstream'
Model-turned-actress Ivana Milicevic is poised to join Sean Astin and Vinnie Jones in the sci-fi indie Slipstream for MPCA and helmer David Van Eyssen. The project is due to start lensing this month in South Africa. Slipstream centers on a young scientist (Astin) who invents a time-travel device that allows those who touch it to travel 10 minutes into the past. His plan to use the machine for a bank heist goes awry when a group of robbers tries to hold up the same place. Milicevic will play an FBI agent who is assigned to thwart the plot of Astin's character. Brad Krevoy, David Lancaster, David Bixler and Frank Hubner are producing, with Julia Verdin co-producing. Milicevic, who starred on HBO's The Mind of the Married Man, is repped by UTA, One Entertainment and attorney Karl Austen. She next appears in the features Paycheck and Love Actually.
