After The State (1993) left MTV, CBS picked up the show and aired this special as a new pilot. But unfortunately, the ratings were low and CBS decided not to continue with the show.

Fellow member Todd Holoubek doesn't appear in this special, because he quit The State after the group's MTV show ended.
