Thom Adcox-Hernandez, Cree Summer and Jeff Bennett starred in a previous Disney animated series Gargoyles (1994).

In late Summer 2005, Sean Seles explains about the confirmed cancellation of The Buzz on Maggie, that the series "didn't mean anything to Disney", in spite of having well-received animation, art direction, and characters. The finale aired in late Spring 2006, as reruns stopped in 2008.

The Buzz on Maggie was Disney Television Animation's first animated series to be fully animated in Adobe Flash, and would be later used other shows, like Yin Yang Yo! (2006), Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil (2010), Fish Hooks (2010), Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja (2012) and Star vs. the Forces of Evil (2012).
